I have recently purchased a new set of 716 Ap1's and have used them on two rounds only. I have protected the heads with covers between shots and am amazed at how marked the clubs have become after such a short time. There are a number of small scratches that indicate where the ball was struck, which I accept would be normal, but what I am very disappointed with is the burnish marks on the club faces.
I have returned the clubs to the manufacturer but have been told '.....we cannot find an original manufacturing or material defect'.
Has anyone else found this to be a problem? I have previously used cally and png irons and these clubs have looked in better condition after several years of use rather than the two days I have used the Titleist irons.
I would add that this has not detracted from the very good performance of the AP1's.
