  1. I play off 11 handicap, and want light steel high launching shafts. I have a swing speed of 70-75mph, and on test I have a preference for Nippon shafts Your comments please

If that is what you're interested in I would try the Nippon NS Pro 850GH which is a light weight Mid/High launch. It is a super light-weight steel shaft that feel really solid.

Also, You should try the NS Pro 950GH which is a little higher launching shaft with a softer tip. This one is about 9 grams heavier than the 850GH.

The last shaft I would try is the NS Pro 105T this one might be a little to heavy for what you are looking for, however, it does produce a higher ball flight and a lot of my customers love this shaft.

    Hope that helps

I would echo Jimmy M's comments. I play the Nippon NS Pro 850GH shaft. Its lightweight, high launching and very consistent. There's an upcharge but you get what you pay for.

I strongly suggest a fitting. I have been looking to get a new set of AP1's for a year now. Have had several fittings and not come up with a good combination til a couple weeks ago. My fitter ordered in a UST Mamiya Recoil 65 in F3 for me to try. After 45 minutes back and forth with different shafts etc. I was impressed with this shaft and ordered my set. I received them yesterday, rechecked them on monitor, and went to course, bad weather here in N.W. Pa., but had to hit them on at least one hole. Clubs are beautiful and very impressive. On 6 balls I gained 12 to 15 yards and reduced off center hits by 15 or so feet. Can't wait til the weather breaks again to get out and give the whole set a good run. Just retired by set of AP1 710's with NS pro 105's, as my swing speed also in mid 70's. Hope this helps. Good Luck and go Titleist..

I also play the Nippon 850 shafts. They are nice. I saw on Nippon's website that they now have an even lighter steel shaft. Check with your fitter.

You might also consider KBS tour 90. I have been playing the AP2 714 in the KBS tour, but a recent fitting for the 716's with the tour 90 made the club come alive for me. my SS is similar. Good luck!
