Picked up some classic Titleist clubs. They are museum quality and if I was putting up on a wall, I’d leave the factory grips. But at 30 years they’re pretty hard. So to use them I need to regrip. Should I use my preferred MCc4+ or the current Titleist Tour grip ?

I would go with the Tour Wrap since they would look the closest to old school leather wrapped grips.

Those are nice looking specimens! I would personally just put the Tour Velvet Titleist grips on them.

You might be able to find some of those classic Victory grips that are on those. I know Golf Pride had a limited release of those a couple years ago.

    Yup this

Get the classic Golf Pride Victory grips.

BUT....if your going to hit them find some Tour Balatas or Tour Professional balls. I've read that todays golf balls are much harder than then those older balls and if you have good swing speed with the driver you may crack the wood on the head (that's what I've read, but I'd definitely do search on "Todays Golf Balls with Wooden Heads").

Elson C - thanks for tip, looks great and I ordered a set.
  8. Ok did some searching and not finding anything about todays balls being bad, maybe its range balls? I don't know, on Golfwrx there's forum section on Hickory/wood clubs and I was told by a guy who has tons of these clubs that range could crack the head. So take it for what its worth.

Regardless I'd love to try a round with some persimmon heads, and 1980's blades and some old style balata or tour professionals!!

Keep us updated on what you decide to do, wall hang or play!
    Sweet clubs regardless!!!!

I would find a shop that can put on a leather grip. Can't get more classic than that! Good luck.
