I am 2 hours from Austin so club fitting is not foreseeable in the next month.  I don't want to lose that much of the season.  I'm 5' 7" and play a 47" driver now. I want to stay with 47" in Diamini White if possible but I'm not sure which head. I hit a draw naturally so I'm worried the D2 w draw bias will hurt more than help. BTW Im 48 with a 7 handicap. I can hit a hook or Pwr fade. Would D3 give me more distance?

The biggest difference between the club heads other than size is that the D3 will provide a slightly lower (about 0.25°) launch and slightly lower (200 RPM) spin rate than the D2. The D3 also offers a bit more ball workability.

If you are looking at the 910's, there was a bigger difference in launch and spin as well as draw bias in the D2 over the D3.

The 913 D2 and D3 launch and spin virtiually the same this year, but the 913 D2 is slightly more forgiving, and a little larger (460cc vs 445cc). Both 913 heads are faster and more forgiving on off center hits than the 910 and the 913D2 has less spin than the 910 D2 so you should see more distance.   We have also differentiated the heads by letting players know that they can draw the ball easier with the D2 vs the D3.  This is due to the center of gravity position, not in face angle.  The 913 D2 is actually less draw biased than the 910 D2.  It is just easier to turn over right to left (RH) than the 913 D3 head.

Thank you all.  I made an appointment at Golfsmith in Austin for next Wednesday.  I took my team to a golf tournament and it was a Titleist fitting Pro but he didn't have time to fit me due to the tournament.  He suggested the white might be too stiff so Im going to go get fitted.  I will pass on the info.

Here's the update on the fitting. I'm 5' 6" 220 and 48 yrs old. Swing speed 95, launch angle 12.5-13, spin 2000.  Fitted for a 913 D2 with A1 adjustment and a Bassarra 50 Stiff shaft.  Added 20 yards on simulator. Had to pay 49.95  for the fitting. I was fitted on a 45.5" Driver. I want a 47" driver because that's what in used to swinging. Fitter said Bassara only goes to 46". What would be an equivalent kick-point shaft that goes to 47"?  Thank you

  6. The really dont have much similar, you would have to go with a regular flex s+ for results or a 62g stiff, unless you want to pay and upcharge, 47" is a lot of shaft though, considering you are 5'6, switching to a 46 will be way more accurate and you might even swing it faster

    Hi Cathi,

I don't have the chance to demo clubs before buying but I currently play the 910 D3 9.5 driver and just wanted to double check before upgrading to the 913.  The 913 launch and spin characteristics are essentially the same between the D2 and D3 so basically it comes down to personal preference regarding size and forgiveness?  The ball flight should be similar with either one?  Your help and advice would be greatly appreciated,  thanks!

Yes, the launch and spin of the 913 D2 and D3 should be essentially the same this year.  The biggest difference is that the 913 D2 will turn over easier right to left (as a right hander) than the 913 D3.  I am checking with our Japan office to see if there is anyone near you that can assist you with choosing the right head.
