I have just purchased a set of 718 AP2 Irons (3-PW) with AMT TOUR WHITE S300 shafts from my local pro shop. Played 2 rounds with them and just cannot get used to the feel of the Stiff shafts, as I’ve always used Extra Stiff (Previously Rifle 6.5’s). Do Titleist offer a shaft replacement service that would save me the embarrassment (and cost) of going back to my pro shop and asking for Extra Stiff shaft options? Thanks

You've paid more than a grand. The pro shop should make you happy. Titleist has a huge matrix of available shafts (46 varieties, not counting shaft flex) and for that price, you should find one that fits your swing. Sending in the clubs for reshafting won't be cheap, and no guarantee that picking one sight unseen will be any better.

2 rounds? maybe you need more time with them?

Ouch! Looks like you are going to have to be embarrassed. Maybe your pro shop has a local satisfaction guarantee? Some places do and will trade for free up to 30 days. Most of us TT's here are always preaching to do the Titleist Thursday free fittings before you buy. AP2's are great sticks. Hope you this sorted out.
  5. I imagine you can send them to Titleist for a reshafting, but just like going back to your local store you'll be charged for each new shaft, plus the cost of pulling and installing the new shafts and a set grips.

If the shafts don't fit you I'd say either pay the $$ for a reshaft or just sell the set and recoup as much as you can and reorder a new set with the correct shafts. I'd say look into both options and figure which may be cheaper or just easier to do over all. I'd suggest just biting the bullet and having them reshafted. Also I'd say send them to Titleist just because I'd imagine that they'd be under some type of warranty if something went on Titleist's watch vs Joe Blow in town doing the club work.

    Best of luck!

Can I first ask a simple question: did you get fitted with these shafts? The reason being is this: I play that same exact shaft in my 718 AP3s. I am in my mid-50's, now carry my 7 iron about 160, having picked up a full club my switching from my 716 AP2s with the Nippon for Titleist shaft. The shaft is perfect for me, wanting something with a mid-launch. If you were playing Rifle 6.5s, man, those things are telephone poles, much heavier than these shafts. I can't imagine moving from the rifles to these.

Thanks for this Bill. You’re right, the Rifle 6.5 were telephone poles. I was fitted for these shafts but literally only hit 2 shafts. I play Hazrdus X in all my woods as I have a strong swing, and I have pretty low ball flight. I’m 43, off 8 and hit my 7 iron around 180. I personally want to try a few more shafts (Project X LZ 6.0) seem to sit about right but feel its going to be a costly exercise in getting things right.
