Hey everyone at Team Titleist, I have been in the United States Navy for about 3 and a half years and am currently stationed in Japan. Our schedule keeps us out to see in upwards of 300 days out of the year. Every moment spent either in home port or at port visits around the world, my one and only priority is to golf. An issue that seems to always arise for me is being able to quickly find the swing I had before we left out to sea again. I've done as much as to take a wedge on to the flight deck of our ship in the morning, just to swing it, but I have no idea if what I am doing will actually keep me consistent enough until I hit my next port visit and my next course.

The question I am posing to anyone who may read this is: What is the best way to keep the rust off from a lack of play time and range work? A particular gym routine? Finding a way to implement pre-shot routines? Or maybe some particular stretching?

Any and all advice offered here is GREATLY appreciated. I want to compete at the collegiate level and with 2 years left to serve, I feel now is the time for me to prepare to hit the ground running on this goal of mine.

Thanks again everyone for your input.

Wishing you all fair winds and following seas,

    Justin

Since it's winter here in Iowa, I've been practicing a lot in my room.  I work on my swing, putting, and a lot of short game drills.  I know you probably don't have the room to do this, but it has helped my game out a lot.  One thing you could do though is the 100 Swings a Day drill by Hank Haney.  This has really helped my swing, and I know have a greater understanding of my swing.  I know have a much more consistent swing, and I don't worry about the hooks and slices that I used to have so badly.  I have been doing this since October and has helped a ton!  Typically you switch between using a 7 iron and a driver, but since I'm just in my room I use a 7 iron.  It only takes between 10-20 minutes ranging from how fast you do the swings.  I highly recommend this drill. Thank you for serving our country, Go Navy!

My only suggestion to keep the rust off is to wrap or place a cover over the club. If rust does appear using Coke(regular) can remove it. I used it and it works. If the club head is heavily rusted pour some Coke into a container large enough for the club head to fit then leave it sit for a day or two. The Coke will remove the rust.

Well I obviously did not understand the request.
