When is everyone's favorite time to play during the day. I enjoy getting out on the course early, while it is still cool out. - Jack

Hard to pick my favorite time to play, because anytime would be my favorite time.Anytime I can get out and play is my favorite. But to chose one i would agree with you and say early morning.

Earliest morning tee time possible. Love getting out there on the range with a nice layer of fog and relax to hit a few putts before a round. Plus, I find it usually helps out with the pace if you are early in the morning and you are left with the remainder of your day to do whatever you would like.

Is "anytime" an appropriate response? I like early morning on the occasion that its possible, however I find myself usually shutting the course down, heading out after work and playing/practicing til I can't see a ball fly anymore.

In the fall, winter, and spring, I like early for some reason...Mainly due to less daylight time I guess.
Summer I definitely like late. I love hitting the final holes at twilight, then getting home just as the sky turns dark sitting on the deck next to the grill. Something about a late BBQ after a good round of golf... Just nothing compares...

early mornings without a doubt.. First one out or close to it, the weather is quiet and then you have the rest of the day to be with the family.....

I like to play anytime during the day, but do prefer to be out early. Getting out early in the morning is great. There is usually no one if front to slow down the pace of play and it's just great to be on the course when it's so quiet. Plus, like Chris H. says, you get done early and still have plenty of time remaining for family activities.

For years, I've been playing as early as possible during the week, often getting out as soon as we can see the ball go down the fairway. Lately, one of the groups I play with has been starting at 9 am. I'm finding that it's still cool enough during the middle of the summer that we don't suffer extraordinarily from the heat and humidity, and that it's late enough that we're not fighting the early morning high humidity and wet grounds from overnight or early morning watering.
That said, the time of day I really like best is late afternoon/evening. The course quiets down as night approaches; the breeze tends to lessen; the light is less glaring (except directly into the setting sun). My wife and I used to play in the evening in Berlin, Germany, teeing off between 5 and 6 pm and finishing around 9:30 or 10 pm. When I play late afternoons now, I get much the same feeling. Just don't do it often enough due to other evening commitments.

As early as possible.
There tends to be less wind, fewer ball marks, smoother greens, faster play, and cooler temperatures.

I agree with the majority. Early just feels good. Not that i am picky when it comes to just finding time to get out, but if i had my way it would be first thing.

Some of my fondest memories are coming down the 18th hole, sun beginning to set, quiet and silence all around, and finishing out the hole with my dad and brother. Nothing much better than golf at that time of the day.

I'm with you Jack. I like to get out as early as I can. I like getting out there while the grass is still wet with the morning dew, with the sun rising, and while the rest of the world is practically still. It's when I find the golf course to be the most peaceful. Plus, I still have day left when I finish my round to go do something else.

I love being on the coarse first thing in the morning and late in the afternoon.

I love to tee it up around dusk or dawn to be honest. Something about the stillness and light at that time that I really like. The courses are usually empty too and I tend play my best when the pace is quick.

I enjoy playing anytime on any day as well. The majority of my frequent play is later in the day to the point where I watch the sun go down.

Early morning. I like to be the first to tee off and play on foot, usually done about 11. Go home take a nap then finish the day with another round about 3 in the afternoon.

Early Morning is my choice....before the NC heat and humidity begin to dominate the day. Also, what's better then having the remainder of the day to contemplate where the hell that slice came from!

If I had to choose, early morning is the best. The temps are cooler and wind is not as strong. I live in Kansas where it is always blowing.
John MAsheville, North Carolina
At dusk. It's quiet and usually not crowded on the course. I also love playing in the rain because few people are playing and its quiet. That's the only thing I have in common with Seve Ballesteros, ha ha.

I enjoy playing between 8-9 am

First thing in the morning before tee times start, cool and no wind, and able to play 18 holes in 3 hours with no one in front of us!!
