    Grindelwald,

I was wondering how you guys are measuring your distances on the golf course.

My first years I was using the Garmin watch, which was very good from all kind of positions on the golf course (even when you were not able to see the flag out of the trees) Last season I switched to the Bushnell range finder, which I love even more, as you are getting the yardage as exact as you need it (my game improved a bit, so I don't need to play out of the trees too often)

    What are you guys using?

I did use a Garmin handheld device for a few years and it worked well however I bought a Bushnell range finder last year and i find it to be more useful. I love being able to point it to an object or something to give me an exact yardage. And i also find it very useful on the driving range.

Range finder all the way for me...
  3. I have two methods, SkyCaddie and Bushnell Laser RangeFinder. I find they each have their own set of advantages, in case you were wondering...the SkyCaddie GPS is great for blind shots.

    Good Luck!

I got a Leupold GX-3i a couple of years ago and love it. Like Chris said though if you looking at a blind shot it's not going to help.

I use a Garmin G6 GPS. I find the laser range finders are only useful from 180 and in on a flat non dogleg hole. Other wise thers a tree or a hill in the way. The newer GPS let me move the target around for layups or the back edge of the greens were there are no flags to shoot with a laser.

I switched from GPS to a bushnell two years ago and absolutely love it. It is quicker and more accurate as far as I'm concerned. Stu

I used to use the GolfShot app for years until they changed the interface and partnered with GolfNow or whatever service. Now I just resort to the old school method of finding a yardage and pacing it off. Funny, i score better now......

I'm about to try my hand at making yardage books for the courses on my local amateur tour and for the courses I frequent. I find the notes on rounds I have played to be more valuable now that I am competing again.

After my V2 was stolen, I was able to find Bushnell G force DX 1300 Arc laser rangefinder on ebay for a great price.

Skycaddie, Even when I'm two fairways over, I still get accurate yardage to front, middle, back of the green from the angle I'm hitting on.

I use a bushnell. But I fell nothing is better than actually stepping it off.

I use a Garmin GPS watch as well as a Bushnell Rangefinder. The watch is nice for knowing the yardage to the front, middle, and center of the green, but the rangefinder is helpful for knowing yardages to specific targets, like hazards and trees.

I've been using a Bushnell laser for the last three years and it does exactly what I need it for.

I like the rangefinder! Helps a ton at new courses. The problem is once your have a device, will you ever be able to play without one?

I love my Sky Caddie Touch. My buddies with their range finders are always asking me the distance to ditches, blind spots etc. Also the Sky Caddie is easier and faster to use in a golf cart.

I've been using Golf Frontier for the last couple of years with my phone and tablet and seems to be fairly accurate. When needed, I use my Bushnell Laser to double check distances when in doubt. Pitiful the technology we now use ... eh?

I use a Bushnell Laser Rangefinder, and it has improved my game dramatically! Before I would have to walk off the yardage and it wasn't always accurate. Now I use the rangefinder and I am hitting the ball the perfect yardage. You can see how high tree is, how far that branch is, and how far a rock is, which you can not do with a GPS. I would definitely recommend it, I guarantee it will improve your game.
