    Hey Team Titleist -

I hope everyone is having a great first (official) week of summer! Earlier this year, we asked what your golf goals would be for 2016. Well it's time to check in!

Have you accomplished any of your goals? What steps have you made to improve your game?

We look forward to reading about your success thus far, and if you're hitting the golf course this weekend, play well!

Hi Abby L, heading to Mexico tomorrow for two weeks. I plan on getting a few rounds in down there. The courses I have played there before are beautiful. I have been so busy at my own course, I can't seem to get but maybe one round a week in. Vacation time!
    Play Well,
    Steve S.

It has been an up and down season so far. I have been able to meet two of my goals; 2 rounds under par and 1 round with nothing higher than a 4 on the card.

I have picked up a few yards with the C16 Driver in the bag!

My #1 goal this year is to get my two little kids out on the course more, and that starts this weekend!

    Happy Summer everyone.

I am back to playing pain free and have the handicap in the single digits currently. Hope to lower it a bit more.
All brand new sticks in the bag this year. So no excuses.

    Hi Abby!

Yes, I'll be showing up early with my guys waiting at the range both days this weekend, I'm sure. I had three low round of the year last weekend, and some of us were amazed and others not so much- can't make everyone happy :-)

I'm afraid to say that my process began much earlier, I started a complete overhaul of my swing beginning 3-4 years ago. But I had more time to work with it in the last couple of years in the JVGA.

Last year in April, I gave my self a birthday present- Futura X5R, and a prescription came with that from my coach, Jim. Around the same time each year, the Titleist Loyalty Program goes on and the fresh new Pro V1 showed up as well. By June, I thought, and so did Jim, mentioned, I'm going to need to update some clubs. I've always been fairly in tune to what's out in the market and it can be confusing with all the marketing slogans out there. So I made it a point to be honest with my self with the equipment I'll play that I'll only test it with what I've learned. I tested many different brands, and sure enough, the 915D3 outshined everyone out there including the driver I had played for too many years. I mean the 915D3 was easy to put it in the bag.

November last year, on Veterans Day, I received my 716CB irons, and immediately in January, I couldn't help but feel good inside because of these irons- it's never felt so good. But I knew all along that my short game needed some work, but then I continued to work with the mid irons momentum and added even added the 716TMB. Big smiles- I was all teeth- it was rockin'! I'm not a long ball hitter, but this helps!

A few things set me back along the way...age and ailments...(ugh) LOL But it didn't stop me- I did what little I could and took care of business. I'm healthy again.

Titleist Thursday program came around and it couldn't have been a better timing for me. It was much needed and so I got a schedule in early May, and my SM6's arrived on May 24th! The #honeydippedtrio #sharpestgrovesinthebag are in my bag.

The plot thickens and the confidence rose (It's Godzilla!! jk.). My Vokeys are a pure-pure joy to me not to mention the rest in the bag.

One piece of equipment is left unfulfilled- it's my hybrid. I have had a difficult time to find a place where they have both the H1 & H2 and sometimes it's the shaft that's not available. The other day, I was able to try the H1 for the third time and I really liked it. I'd like to make a comparison side by side between the two. One of the local store said they may have the H2 and the shaft I like. If things go well with that, I can make a decision and place an order by next week.

Or I could always schedule another Titleist Thursday and be done. But living in the suburbs has the disadvantage of not being close to some things. Patience is a virtue.

Anyway, it looks like my goals with my short game skills has been met, but another one is underway.

All I know is that working with my swing works even better and easier with the proper equipment that are fitted for me. It is no coincidence that all the clubs that are and will be in my bag has the name Titleist on it. I couldn't be more thankful to Titleist for creating such superior products for golf. I'm happy and my clubs are always clean and happy :-) LOL

    Best!

I really worked on becoming more consistent with my swing this year. After hitting two or three buckets on the range every day for a couple of months, I can honestly say that I have developed quite the swing and can repeat the same shot over and over. I feel very successful!

To maybe beat "the Kids!" Last year, Club Championship final group. 17yo, 15yo, and 18yo. All together they didn't add up to my age! Only one had all of Caddyshack, and when I used some of my best Venturi lines (Jimmy, now he's bringing 6 and 7 into the picture), they didn't know who Ken Venturi was. My fellow members were saying to getem' Grampy! Alas the kids won out. Not too bad though, one on a full ride to a large NE University for golf, and another past USGA junior champion, and qualifier for the USGA Amateur. Revenge would be sweet, or maybe that’s sweat, BUT an uphill battle against these youts. But a lot of fun trying.

My Summer goal is to shoot even par. I'm high 70's right now. Just need a little more to get to even for the first time.

Just looking to improve my handicap. Finally into single digits, but using the rest of the summer to push it further thanks to my Titleist gear!

Well my entire bag is full of Titleist clubs. But sadly my practice has took a bad turn. Live in rural ky and my only two driving ranges have shut down and returned to farmland. So no practice, play three times a week but can't practice on the course while others are out there. Any creative ideals.

  16. Hi Abby,

My summer golf goal this year has been to get my handicap down to the low single digits. After working hard with my coach in the off season, I can say I am well on my way. I had a career low round this weekend, 73, and am no consistently shooting 80 or better. Pretty sure the new set of 716 AP2s has had a big impact as well.

    Best,

HI Abby and all at Team Titleist,

I had a lot of back surgery the end of the last year, and my only goal was to just be able to play this year. Well being the idiot I can be, when my doctor told me I could putt and pitch around the greens, I heard that as "Sure go ahead and play". Glad to report I am playing with just minor soreness and all has been well. First couple of rounds didn't break 100. Now in low 90s and hopefully back in the 80s before too long: what I describe my game as "firmly entrenched in mediocrity". Hope everyone is doing well. Have a great golfing year.

Went to Thursday fitting, bought new 716 AP1s and my handicap has dropped two strokes. Still have some work with my new irons and getting use to the distances and trusting them. Have worked on slowing down my swing and drives are more consistent and in the fairway. Have made some adjustments in my life style and sleep habits after getting shot in lower back and playing almost pain free. Next step to be ready for some senior tournaments starting the end of July and running through November.

I hope you meant getting a shot (needle) in the back and not literally shot in the back. Nice to hear from you Chuck. Take care.

Well I was hoping to continue the good play from the end of last season but so far the 3 rounds I've played were the worst I've played in years. I'm missing greens, finding the OB, hitting water, losing Pro-V's, just a train wreck. All I'm doing well is putting, it's getting to the green that's the chore all of the sudden. It's frustrating because I worked out all winter, lost 11lbs, now have a 2 pack, and watched lots of instructional videos but so far, no good.

well, i haven't been able to lower my handicap yet, but i have had two of my best 9 hole rounds so far. shot a 43 on the front in Yellowknife and 44 on the back.

Now if I could string them together, i'd be stylin' !

My summer goal was simply "play more golf" as the last two years have been limited due to a pregnant wife and then a newborn.

So far I've been successful (even if its only about five rounds total at this point - which says something for how little I've played previously)
