I woke up this morning and saw this on the ground :- How many rounds do you think we have left?

I usually go to the simulator during the winter just to keep my swing on check. I also get some ball data and work on impact. I may join a men's indoor golf league as well which is in Ajax.

I’m at least getting out for 1 more @ Hidden Lakes (new course) next weekend. Supposed to be a high of 10. After that probably just a simulator as well.

Each of the past few years we have been able to sneak some rounds in November and early December closer to London area (tarandowah) and others. Heres hoping for a few sneak away days! Still need time to test the 2019 Protos!

We had a little bit of that crap here in Barrie earlier this week as well. Not funny !!!
However - I have managed to get out and play afterwards. Now it is a day by day decision. My course officially closes for the season on October 31 so there is not to much time left. I do hope to get in at lest three or four more rounds before I have to retire to the indoor simulators. Monday looks good :)
  5. Temperature was 8 degrees with very little wind when we started this morning. We got rain/hail on the last hole, but otherwise a very good day this late in the season. Conditions were much tougher last week when I played Grey Silo and shot 86 Saturday, and 90 on Sunday. Course played too long for me. Today, on my home course at Rebel Creek, I think the frozen factor kicked in. The ball was rolling. Suddenly, I am hitting hybrids and irons on my approach shots, and even with the greens being punched and sanded, I hit 11 greens, and shot 76 with 32 putts. 2 biridies from approach shots to less than 2 ft each. Otherwise, we did not make any putts. Still a great day. I played the same AVX ball the entire round. Temperature tomorrow is supposed to hover around 32 degrees, or Zero Celsius. It is going to be cold. Don't know if we will get it in or not.
  6. Maybe one more left for me if I'm lucky. Otherwise it's time to pack it in for another Canadian winter lol
  7. We did not get out today. It was minus 7 with the wind chill this morning. We have times booked for next weekend however.

Just got in from hitting balls at the range at my home course. It was nice out, not too windy, compared to the last couple of weeks, so jumped on and played 4 holes while I was there as well. Supposed to play tomorrow, but as Darius said, it is a day by day decision. My gut is telling me that there is maybe a week left and that's it. Anything less than 7-8C is not enjoyable for me.

I'm disappointed that the season is almost over. I finally managed to work out a few kinks and am shooting better than ever! There is still more work to be done but hopefully next season i'm more consistent.

Winter was here, now it's gone now just heavy frost until 10:30 every day. I work at the last private course open here in Calgary everyone else pulled the plug after the first snow, we're staying open until Friday.
  11. Got out yesterday afternoon for a quick 9. Temperature was dropping by 3:30pm, so I opted to go back to work rather than play the back which was backed up. Loving the AVX in this cooler weather.

Hey Bob... I like your scores you are posting in the colder weather !
My last three rounds were 79, 81, and 80. My biggest issue seems to be putting in the colder weather. I guess part of it may be the fact I am having a hard time believing the greens are so fast ! On Monday I shot 81 with 40 putts :)
  13. Wow. I would be checking my Scotty for a bent shaft.:) You must have hit almost every green in regulation, but maybe you had some long putts in there too. Either way, any round from here on in is a bonus. I just renewed my membership for next year.

The only thing bent is me :)
I hit so many lips it is ridiculous. I only wish it was always to the right or always to the left, as then I could adjust and aim a bit further to the opposite side. Unfortunately I seem to graze the edges repeatedly and keep changing sides.
As with anything else in this game - I will need to work on it and hopefully get it on track before something else goes awry :)

Next week looks like pretty good weather to still get out!!!!!
  16. I find if I am missing putts both ways, I just don't have the speed of the greens. My cure is too keep my head down until I hear the ball hit the cup and go in, or too much time has elapsed and I have missed. Hopefully, when I have missed I don't have 4 feet coming back because I have no idea what happened, or I rely on my playing partners to tell me why the putt missed.

It's going to be nice out later!!! I booked a 9 hole after work at Cherry Downs!!!!
  18. I played 18 yesterday before the wind came up. Unfortunately, I have to work today. Otherwise it is looking like a good day to play.

I was able to get in 14 holes. I started at 4:30pm and it got dark around 6. My friend and I basically had the course to ourselves, hardly anyone there.

playing Sunday, Monday and Wednesday. After that I'll hang up the grass for my hitting net in my bedroom and simulator men's league.
  21. Played 18 yesterday at Pine Knot in Dorchester. The sun pushed through for a while, and it reached a high of 7 with no wind. Played reasonably well and shot 82 with 3 three putt greens. Kept reminding myself to hit an extra club as the ball does not carry as far in the colder weather. Hopefully not my last round as it is supposed to warm up by the end of the month. However, we have 5 cm of snow on the ground this morning.
For people in Southern Ontario who are not familiar with Pine Knot. This course is just outside of London on the Toronto side of the 401. It was built on sand and it has excellent drainage. With all of the rain that we have had in the last 3 weeks you would expect it to be wet. However, it was completely dry, and the green had been rolled.(not sure when the pins were last changed, some holes were a little beaten up). Greens were fast by any standards, and it was a very enjoyable day. Did not feel like fall golf at all with respect to the condition of the course.
For the record, I am not a member or associated with the course by any means. I live just outside of Kitchener and I drive 45 minutes to play this course in the Spring and Fall when my course is not open.

Innerkip Highlands is an great course
I do believe it's still open
But not 100percent sure since we are getting that white stuff .
  23. Innerkip was still open as of yesterday, but my line of thinking was that it would be slightly warmer at Pine Knot, and probably drier.
