I got out on Wednesday April 17th for a round of golf with three friends. The weather was absolutely beautiful. Temperatures were close to 12, the sun was out, and the winds were moderate, all made for a perfect start to the season. The sad news is that my 5 1/2 month stretch of no bogeys ended very quickly ! That's okay though - It was still great to get out and chase my Titleist around the links :) Wishing you all a great start to the season. I look forward to hearing about your great rounds, hole in ones, and improvements seen from adding new technology to your bag !

Well Darius ...I'm glad that you had a chance to get your season started. I've had a hiatus from the game for much of the past 12-16 months so my form has slipped significantly as well.

This past 3-4 weeks, I have tried to correct that and start getting back to the range for practice and playing a few more times per week as well. Things are starting to come together. On Saturday, I posted a round of 81 -- it was not too bad of a round, but then I counted up my stats for the round -- 11 greens in regulation! I was happy with that statistic as my swing and mental processes are improving. Then I added up my putts -- 40 putts!!! I nearly died when I finished the arithmetic! Oh well, it gives me something to focus on -- but in my defence the greens were a bit shaggy and slower than normal! :-)

Here are some photos from Saturday:

I feel you... I have only 1 birdie so far in my 5 rounds. I've gotten many pars and many many bogies and worst.

Hey Dino - Thanks for the pictures. Looks very nice. I am curious - I see the pin was in the hole on each of the shots. Are you leaving the pin in for your putting ?
J - I am impressed that you have five rounds in already ! Have any of the new rules helped you in your scores so far this year ? Are you leaving the pin in or out ? Everyone in our group played with the pin in. I do have to admit it seemed helpful in mentally gauging the distance of the putt, but not one of us actually hit the pin resulting in a salvaged putt.

My buddies and I are leaving the pin in just to speed up the round for now. It has screwed me up twice so far on par putts, hit the pole and rolled away.

Hi Darius! I took photos with the pins in so that there was a reference for the photos. The one with the golf ball was a shot as I approached the green - after positioning my bag towards the next tee box.

I am leaving the pin in only for assisting with lining up the putt, then I am removing it. I need to focus on my speed control with putts -- that's where I got into trouble with 40 putts!!

I’m glad to hear everyone is getting out and hitting the links. I have not been able to get out as of yet nor swung my clubs in a few months as my wife and I have a new baby at home. I am planning on playing this Saturday and giving my new TS2 driver and fairway metal a good workout. Hoping everyone has a great season of hitting them in the short stuff and lots of fun.
