  1. New T400 Irons: Easy launch and super distance for moderate swing speeds. Introducing the newest addition to the T·Series, the T400 irons - our most forgiving iron experience. The new Titleist T400 irons utilize an advanced split sole design, super-thin face and wide body, hollow head construction fortified by extreme amounts of high-density tungsten to help golfers effortlessly launch it higher and hit it farther.

Nice to see that Titleist is accommodating slower swing speeds starting with the TS 1 driver and now the T400 irons. I guess with the average golfers age getting older it only make sense to help us keep our distance.

I did notice that there is no 4 iron but the set starts with the 5 iron but it has the same specs as the T300 4 iron.
So with the more forgiving head, you get a stronger loft with a shorter shaft.

Todd... I too noticed that the new T400's start with the 5 iron. Personally, I really love my 4 iron and use it quite often on a mid length par 4 or even on a par five to help ensure I keep the ball in play and avoid going through the fairway on some holes that have big turns in them. I guess if I were to move to a new set I would have to keep my existing 4 iron from my current set :)

Darius if you look at the specs T400 (remember these are ment for swing speed of 85) 5 iron is actually a 4 iron loft with a 5 iron lie and shaft. So you may hit the 5 as long as a your 4. So now you just gained a club length thanks Titleist

Easy conclusion to make on strong lofts as an average golf consumer.

The most obvious way to explain the difference in playability is to imagine a majority of golfers hitting a 21° MB blade 3-iron vs TS2 21° Hybrid. The seperation between carry distance and height would be extreme. Similar difference between T100 to T200 to T300 etc..
