Hi I am going tomorrow to a fitting center here in Memphis for a set of 716 T-mb,s I am a 2 handicap with an average clubhead speed with a driver of around 100 mph Do u have any suggestions on a shaft or anything specific I tend to have a very low ball flight with low irons and have been set up before at 3 degrees flat

  2. I recently was fitted for a full set of T-MBs. I too have a low ball flight. Interesting for me was the UST Mamiya Recoil shaft. I was considering steel, but the results were too good to pass up. My ball flight jumped higher with better carry, and the ball still dropped onto greens with good spin. I ended up with Recoil 95 f4 shafts.

Enjoy! It's a great club. Have fun with the hitting.

With your swing speed you might want to consider the AP2s. You might want to have a hybrid or 2 in there like also. Try one when you get a chance like the 816 H2 if you prefer to hit more like an iron than sweep the ball. You could go with 1 or 2 hybrids in the low end of your set and then go 5-PW with the 716 AP2s. Give these a try, you might be really surprised how good these clubs are. The T-MB is an awesome club but really needs a higher swing speed. Your swing speed is probably the reason you're a low ball hitter. Let us know how you fitting works out for you.

  5. Thank you I think I am going with the 3-5 in the 716 Tmb and the AP 2s in the 6-P
  6. What's the shaft flex. Maybe if your looking for more of a high trajectory you could get a flighted shaft in low irons

    Hi Matt,

I've done an iron fitting after a couple of years of fiddling with sets. My suggestion is to put your faith in your you fitter. If I give you suggestions and they are not what the fitter recommends, then you might start to have doubts. And there is nothing like have a nice sense of doubt when you stand over your ball.

Sometimes it's not even a matter of having the right shaft. Just the right length by a half inch can make all the difference in contact, trajectory, and even feel.

So talk to your fitter and heed their advise. They're professionals and their reputation depends upon a proper fitting.

    Matt:

Good luck with your fitting. I was recently fitted for a set of 716 T-MB's and am awaiting their arrival. I have a swing speed a little bit slower than you. I ended up being fitted for the True Temper XP-95,regular shaft with a 1.5 degree flat lie. I am about 5ft. 11 inches in height. I am anxious to get the irons and try them out.

Your fitter will have a suggestion as to what shaft will fit you best. Just swing with your normal tempo and the monitor will get accurate #'s.....

I'd imagine the place to start is with the AMT shafts (which are great, by the way)

Whatever concerns you have will definitely be answered at the fitting center. They will have all types of shafts for you to try and to get a good fit for YOU. Good luck. You might find that the numbers have changed once they put you on the monitor.

You might be interested in the KBS Tour 90, or KBS shafts in general. A lot of the Dynamic gold shafts to a lot of people have less "play" in the shaft. Id recommend the KBS Tour shafts. I am a tech rep with the company in Michigan.

I had trouble launching 3 4 irons high in previous sets. I have t-mb irons with Amt TS s400 I love the fact that the longer iron shafts are lighter and easier to launch yet have the same feel. I would definitely try the amt shafts when you get fitted. The t-mb irons with s400 TS shafts are phenomenal. Best irons ever imop
  15. Hi I've got a quick question, I'm finding the 716s mbs are an alsum blade and love the feeling off the face. I have dg s300 in them, do any of you guys find you get what looks like a flyer everynow and then with the 8 through to pw, it costing me big time going through the back 20m to far and it just happens out of nowhere. It doesnt happen with a set of ap2 718s I've been toiling with but they had px lz 6.5 in them. Would a shaft change help or deloft them my swing speed is up around 130mph with driver and slower with my irons
