    Hi,

I need for my daughter ASAP lighter iron heads. Unfortunately she is 11 and 5’8” and struggling with weight. I’m looking for 10 Gramm less that the swingweight drops lower as C9 because she plays 0.5” over men standard. Is Titleist able to deliver something or do we have to move to miz or PXG.

    Thanks

I recently had a 718 AP1 7 iron built with a NS PRO GH shaft 1/4 inch over standard at D0- the shaft is 95 grams- another 1/4 inch would add approximately 1.5 swing weight points, however, I am confident Titleist can achieve C-9 swing weight with the many lighter weight shafts available.

Isn’t possible without a 10 Gramm lighter head with +0.5“. miz offers it but Titleist? Btw my daughter is playing 60 Gramm Accra shafts where we have to buy aftermarket

You can get to a C-9 with the correct shaft and grip. I do have to ask why at 5'8" is she using a shaft that is 0.5" longer than standard? That seems very unusual to me.

Has she spent time with a fitter to determine exactly what she needs?

    London,

The question wasn't what is usual to you. The question is can Titleist deliver 10 gr less head weight like miz? She has a tour fitter but they can't collect Titleist less as 3 gr lighter. Is there any guy from Titleist where is able to answer to a simple question? Is there a custom weight order possible for junior tour players?

Hi Tom, I am not sure I understand what you are requesting. You don't mention which model iron, RH or LH, or shaft, flex, but we don't sell just components so we would not sell the heads without the shafts. We do have lightweight steel shafts that can be built with lighter heads (AP1, AP2, AP3 only) to achieve about a C9 swingweight at 1/2" over with a standard grip.
As 19hole mentioned, you may want to spend some time with a good junior fitter familiar with the strength and development of junior players as 1/2" over men's standard is unusual at 5' 8".

Tom, the AP1 iron I mention above was confirmed directly by Titleist to be DO- a two gram head weight reduction would reduce it to C9. The shaft used was a 95 gram shaft and a shaft 9 grams lighter would reduce the swing weight a additional swing weight to offset the additional swing weight an extra 1/4 inch in shaft length would add.

Thus, I am confident that working with a qualified fitter a combination of grip, shaft and head weights can be found to fit your daughter into Titleist irons at the required swing weight without going to the extreme of a 10 gram reduction in head weight.
  8. Half inch over standard at 5 ft. 8 inches seems unusual! : )
