  1. This is the time of year when a lot of people start to buy clubs whether they are irons, wedges, metal woods, drivers or even a putter.

One of the most important things is getting fit with the Golf Ball you play with. When I am getting fit for clubs,I always take some Pro V1's with me,around 6 or so.

The key is wherever you go, those balls at a range or a store have been hit 1000's of times and aren't even designed to help you get fit for a club. They are there mainly for customers to hit at the store to try out clubs. getting fit for clubs and trying out clubs are 2 different things.

I am not a professional by any means, but I have learned this from professionals throughout the years from getting fit for different clubs. Different balls have different spin rates and can make a difference when you get fit for a club.

So when you go to buy that driver this weekend or next take a few of your own golf balls with you to make sur you get fit correctly.

Most of the devices are supposed to be able to adjust for the ball as well as temperature and humidity (so I've been told). At a Titleist Thursday, they used reasonably new range balls (in one case the course had just changed to NXT-Tour-S range balls). If getting fit indoors, taking your preferred ball will work. I wouldn't be keen about retrieving my own balls in an active range when finished. ;-)

This is really great advice. I have also learned that this can make a huge difference!
