  1. Anyone experiment with larger grips? Was speaking with a friend who is using a larger grip and liked it. Just wondering if any feedback

Haven’t had the chance to use a larger grip other than my on my putter and I didn’t like it. I am thinking of re gripping my wedges from the tour velvet but I like the feed back I get on miss hits and solid shots.

I’ve always wondered if you can really feel when they double tape the grips

I've moved to the GP M4+ with the standard size for the larger lower hand grip. On colder days I have a little bit of an issue with grip so that works fine. The next size up didn't feel comfortable. Holding the foot long sample in a store only helps a little. If a larger grip sample is still comfortable, try one on one club to compare.

No reason to believe that the stock regular sized grips are the right size anymore than the floor model shaft is optimal for you.
  4. Does a larger grip ie +1 tape have any benefit or detrimental effect on either grip or swing?

Neither. My irons and wedges have no extra tape but my woods have +1 extra layer - apart from them filling out slightly there isn't much noticable difference in feel etc.

I would say going with +2, +3 layers upwards or a midsize grip you will begin to notice the club feel different to hold.

I have just switched to the GolfPride Midsize +4 and I absolutely love them. My grip is so much lighter and has greatly increased feel.

I’ve got a midsize on my driver and have for many years , even if I upgrade as soon as it comes , I change to a midsize and the rest of my clubs all have 2 layers of tape under , they work for me , because I have large hands , so thinner grips I don’t feel comfortable holding
