Any alternative shaft recommendations for my seasoned 910 D2 9.5. Currently fitted with Diamana Kai'li 65. My swing speed is 112 mph and I'm launching it far too high.

    Thanks

You've already set the Surefit adaptor down to 8.75 degrees?

If your clubhead and not ball speed is 112 mph, the shaft is probably not right. For an 11 year old/5 generation back driver, buying a new shaft would be more than a used driver (910-913-915) with a stiffer, heavier shaft. You can then swap shafts to trial. A fitting for a shaft and the new shaft might as well be part of a new driver that could eliminate the fitting fee and also best match a driver/shaft to your swing.
  3. Hey man, at 112 mph swing speed you are getting into tour speed territory. I would suggest a graphite design shaft. They run on the pricy side, but the shaft will last you for years. At your speed I would suggest an XS (extra stiff) or a Tour XS.

GD basically comes out with one shaft per year. This year its the HD. 2020 is the XC.. 2019 was the VR... 2018 was the IZ.

I have heard from speculation that some shafts play more fade/draw biased than others, but the IZ is a lot ball flight and doesn't have draw/fade bias.

Iv've attached a chart for your reference.

You can definitely try out the IZ shafts at a Titleist Thursday.

If the IZ is still too high for you, I would go with the TP.

Each shaft has a 4/5/6/7 series with different flexes in between. Check GD website for weights

  4. I would like like some ideas for re-shafting my AP2 716 irons. 60 years old, swing speed is around 90, single digit handicap. I would like to stay away from graphite. I have been looking at the Project X 5.5 regular flex.
