I've been playing the AP2 for 3 years - no 4 this season - now and started with standard/stock set. While I don't believe I'm hitting it farther, or shorter, I'm certainly hitting them better after I had a local club repair guy set them to 1 degree upright. Standard was the shop recommendation for me. Here's the rub, in my opinion. My right arm is crooked (4 inches shorter than the left - I'm a rightie), or bent from an injury/surgery years ago. In my opinion, and for not much money, take them to a local guy who's respected for this attention to detail and go back to standard where you seemed to hit your previous clubs better based on your comments. Some of these young guys in the retail stores have poor memories (i.e., forget what they were taught) and many aren't very good players. Play what you hit best and forget any distance changes unless it's shorter of course. Distance will come by hitting it in the sweet spot huh? That's what we want - solid contact.

I am not sure where you are located, but I feel pretty confident in saying you cannot be properly fit hitting balls indoors into a net!!. I would believe that most of the pros out there would agree with me. I have absolutely nothing against Golf Galaxy, I shop there often. Find a fitter in your area that is OUTDOORS!!

You should be able to find a pro in your area with a lie and loft bending fixture right on the practice tee. Then you'll have a chance to monitor ball flight changes and dial in those distances!

I got tour fit to AP2's at 2* flat. I haven't lost much distance, but I also got High Launch shafts and consequently have been hitting the ball much higher.

If you're getting them bent back GG can do it easily and quickly. It's not that hard.

I would guess that most of the loss is due to the standard loft vs 2* strong, before adjusting the loft I would consider if you like the stopping power better or not. If you like the additional spin then don't adjust it, if you don't need the additional spin then have the loft adjusted.

The lie, most definitely if they are too flat it will cause a fade. One thing to look at is when you take a divot, is the dirt line across the face level or slanted? If it's too flat the dirt line will be a little higher on the toe side.

I would think that if you paid to be fit for your swing then Golf Galaxy would fix it.

Just curious, did the fitter want to be an instructor and tell you that you need to bend over more and at the top have your arm closer to your shoulder?

Hopefully you got the DG S300 shafts as the Project X is going to flight the ball higher. And as said many times on these forums you need to have the new AP2's at least 2 degrees stronger in loft as they tend to hit it higher. And your locale golf shop should be able to bend them for you, It is not that hard if they have the tools. Good luck with them they are great irons.

any certified clubmaker can do them for you, if you are already hitting a fade the flatter you go the more of a fade that will turn into so going back to STD lie should straighten that out. as for loft, the only thing about going 2* strong is you will also make the clubs have 2* less bounce and they could dig a little more, just keep that in mind
