First off thanks for the help with my subject. I think I'm going to give the DT TruSoft a go at it and then work my way up to the NXT Tour. I'll post an update in how it went. Thanks again.

You'll want to play a ball with a very low spin characteristic to help combat your big miss: that slice. Titleist DT TruSoft will be a good place to start.

Hello Crschones!

Titleist DT Solo was what got me hooked on Titleist golf balls when I first started playing several years ago. They're budget friendly and it's a Titleist, so you can't really go wrong. You should give them a try!

If I were you, I'd buy a sleeve of each type of Titleist ball and go test 'em out. This way you will have tried them all and will be able to make your own decision based on your personal experience with each type. Good luck in finding the right ball

Welcome to Team Titleist!

The new DT TruSoft would be a great place to start for you. It has a great soft feel, but is nice and long (with low driver spin, to help straighten out your slice). It is Titleist's most affordable golf ball, and will give you better results around the green than a ball like the Velocity, which is built primarily for those seeking max distance.

Once you are dialed in with your driver enough that you aren't losing a ball every other hole, take a look at the NXT Tour S, which costs a little more than the TruSoft, but gives you even better short-game performance.

Try to stick with one model at a time, though. This will allow you to be more consistent, especially on chips and pitches, better knowing how your ball will react on the green.

Velocity and DT Solo will both have less sidespin than the better performance balls. To note, no ball and no club will stop a slice. The proceeding ball to the Velocity was what I used when I started. That only meant I had a chance to find the ball in the fringe. With something like a Pro-V, it was just 5 yards further into the woods. Lessons eventually saved me money as I went from 10 lost balls to 1-3.
