is the AVX ball replacing the PRO v1 and PRO v1x balls

  2. I don't think that is the case; rather, the AVX has a lower trajectory off the face of the club and is a bit softer than the Pro V1 and V1X. My personal observation since using the AVX is I'm longer off the tee and on second shots to the green. It also has great spin and you can really count on a wedge shot hitting the green, hopping once or twice and settling near the pin. Love this ball.

No Bernard, the AVX is a third option in their high end ball offerings.

Played them this weekend. I’ve been a loyal high end Titleist Ball user since the 80’s. This new AVX really impressed me. Sold

The AVX is the Alternative to the V and the X. It will not be replacing them. It is a softer ball, lower spinning ball, lower flight and designed to increase distance. I played the ball yesterday (I was fitted for the Prov1 a number of years ago and I love it) and the ball is definitely longer. It does not have the spin characteristics of the Prov balls around the greens but it is an excellent ball. I found new distance both off the irons, driver and my hybrids. Do not carry a fairway. If you are curious, buy one sleeve and play it. You might be surprised if you are looking for a premium Titleist ball with great distance and control. When you are fitted for a driver and they look at the spin on the TracMan. Low spin equals distance. I was very impressed and so were my buddies that I played with. Think they were hoping I would loose it so they could find it and keep it. ha..ha...
