Anybody else notice the tendency to lose fewer golf balls when playing their trusty Titleist?! I shot an 84 today (pretty good round for a 15 HCP) but managed to use the same Prov1x ball the entire round. Maybe I'm just more conscious of losing them than other golf balls but more likely explanation is reliable and consistent performance leads to better shots that stay in play.

I sometimes have days where one ball will last an entire round. Then, there are the OTHER days......

It's all in a day's play. I usually play one ball until it wears out or I lose it. Today, for example, one Pro V1x made it through the entire round without any markings on it other than grass or dirt, which I clean off. At the end of the round it looked as good as it had when the day began. Solid 75, with only one birdie (my current index is 7.4). Almost shot my age (74, 75 in two weeks).

Began play today with the same ball. Lasted until the 11th (my 13th) when it disappeared into very long grass adjacent to a water hazard. Next ball lasted two holes before scraping the pavement on a dogleg right par 4. Third ball in play through the remainder of the round. Ended up with an 80 today on the same course.

I can do that once in awhile with my Pro V1's.

Then I noticed ones that lasted a full round (or longer) the next time I played them they don't want to get hit anymore so they jump in the grass or the lake and hide in the forest so I can't hit them any longer.

You know Titleist golf balls are smart like that.... Lol

Once they get a good scuff (or fading) on them they become shag bag practice balls.

I play Pro V1 and play it for 8 rounds before switching it up, not that I really need to change it. I use it for putting practice on my bedroom carpet. I play 2 rounds a week, weather permitting. I posted somewhere a wile back that I use only 6 balls a season. Oh, I forgot to mention, I'm 76, and have a swing speed of 80 mph.
