I have a slow swing speed and play the low-launching AVX because of the spin and feel around the greens. That may sound counter-intuitive to some...to each his/her own.

RE: Best ball for low swing speeds.

Speed determination is advertising from other ball vendors. Feel is simply subjective. The only piece of equipment used more than a putter is the ball. Each of us will develop our priorities on ball selection. Whether it is DT True Feel through Pro-V1x, playing that one ball will lead to more consistent results than the next ball being the last one found.
I try to keep up with Dale and my best overall success is with the X for better launch and distance. Even though my old body can’t quite get to 90 mph with driver. Rather than with DT True Feel based on age and speed alone.

RE: Best ball for low swing speeds.

Not to seem argumentative to earlier advise, the experts at Titleist recommend fitting a ball from the green, back to the tee. That means priority on control and feel first and trajectory and length the last priority. They will tell you that the ProV series perform as designed no mater what your swing speed. Sure, excessive speed will create greater spin on full shots but most shots around the greens are slow swings anyway and the ProV series will give you better control if you learn how to hit a wedge with spin. Don't take our advice, look up the Titleist blogs on ball selection.

RE: Best ball for low swing speeds.
Brock L said:

Either the Tour Speed or Tour Soft work well for slower swing speeds. How slow is too slow?
I was thinking that myself. I guess by using that selector it might help or getting fit when one of the reps is at a course to measure your speed. Most golf shops can determine that for you. Last time my swing speed was 93 with my driver and my ball speed 132. I play Prov1s.

RE: Best ball for low swing speeds.
Either the Tour Speed or Tour Soft work well for slower swing speeds. Over to the right you will see "Golf Ball Selector". Use that link to do the assessment for what they recommend based on several factors, not just swing speed. Those of us who are getting a bit more "experienced" than the rest of the population are dealing with the same issue, slower swing speed. No ball will solve that issue but for me, the ProV1X gives me a bit more spin and height which helps offset some of my swing speed loss but I do give up the softer feel I like about the ProV1X. Everyone here will have a different view based on what they like/need out of their golf ball so I suggest doing the assessment and then just testing out a few until you pick the one you like best. Good luck and enjoy.
