Best thing to do is hit the 19F and the 19H side by side. Fairway wood vs hybrid is a personal preference. Also, quite a few pros recommend a fairway setup of 4W-7W for those with slower swing speeds (I was eluded to this in 2007 by my dad). The main thing is not to get caught up in the "hybrid hype" (how a hybrid is the greatest thing since sliced bread).

Distance wise, I can hit a 21 fairway the same distance as a 17H. If you check the specs, they just about have the same shaft length and lie angle.

I don't carry a 15 fairway because there isn't any added value - one is that I hit an 18 fairway just as far and two is that I carry a 13* draw driver that I hit very well. Also, the distance gain between a 20 fairway and 18 fairway is about 5-7 yards max and the former is easier to hit off a wider variety of lies.

I have a 910F 19* set at B3 (with a shaft length of 41.5" - that is my longtime established length for a 5 wood) and I absolutely smack it. I also can work this club and my 170 yard shot is a fully choked down stinger.

My "one-two" punch on the golf course has been the combination of 7W and 5H since 2006.

910F 19* (set on the lower lofts - A2-D2 or A1-D1) - plays like a 7 wood on the A3-D3 or A3-D4 settings, 18.25 loft on C2,D2, C1,D1. 19* is a standard 5 wood loft.

910F 17* set to the A3-D3 or A4-D4 settings plays like a strong 5 wood. 18.5 loft on A3,B3,A4,B4

I have a 910F 19* and love it to death.

910Fd has a larger head.

Who told you that you shouldn't hit hybrids? And what was the reason they gave you?

In general, swing speeds under 90 will get better distance with a 19 degree (910F), driver swing speeds over 95 appreciate the utility/control with a 19 degree (910H). The stock fairway is longer than a hybrid of the same degree, hence the distance gain with a slightly greater head speed on the longer shaft.

Specifically, try them both. There are some that find one or the other awkward. Personally, I couldn't hit a 15 degree FW (3W) or a 19 degree H (2H or 3H). Have 24 H (4H) and 21/17 F (equivalent to 4W/7W) The 17 is dialed back to 17.75. But that's what works for me.

its always a player preference. i you can hit a fairway wood well i say use the wood. if you have troubles try a hybrid. your suppose to hit a hybrid like an iron.
