I would appreciate any information as to whether Titleist's website club lengths are without the grip and if they are gripped measurements whether it is to the top of the club or other point on the grip (i.e. where on the grip?) and the typical difference between these two measurements. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks.

Titleist measures the irons before they are gripped. They are cut leaving room for the butt cap of the grip. (I think 1/4")

The lengths listed are cut without grip on. Final length would be the depth of the butt cap of the grip.

Thanks for your replies- so to clarify/summarize- the finished length to the top of the grip is approximately 1/4 inch longer than Titleist's listed length.
  5. Hello Joseph.

Grip end cap is always around 1/8”, not 1/4”.

    Kind regards.

The finished length of recent Titleist clubs would be the listed measurement plus the butt cap which varies by approximately 1/8-1/4". ie a 45" driver would be 45" plus the butt cap so anywhere between 45 1/8" to 45 1/4".
  7. Dear Cati.

What kind of ruler Titleist company uses to measure golf clubs lenght?

The fixed 60 degrees angle or some others?

    Thank you!

    Andrea.

The length of each individual club is measured taking into consideration its lie. With a 48" ruler and the printout of a form called "Ruler Buddy" available from Hireko Golf's web site you can measure the length of any golf club as long as you know its lie- the ruler can be purchased from Hierko. There is also an item from Hierko "The Dynacraft Bench Ruler Soleplate" which along with the 48" ruler can be used to measure club lengths- this item can also be used measure swing weight- they have a video demonstration.
