  1. Just saw the tease pictures of the new TS driver. Oh boy! Does anyone know why the change from numbers to letters in the name? What does TS stand for? Thanks.

Hey Chuck! This is just speculation but I've been told the changes to the driver head are drastic. I'd assume that they wanted to emphasize those changes by also breaking out of the previous naming pattern. If I had to guess I'd wager the "TS" stands for "Tour Spec" but again, just speculation. I'm excited!!!
  4. I don't but I'm going to take a guess "Tour Spec"

Curious why the move away from 900 series? That's 20+ years going back to the 975.
  9. c'mon guys, do u really thing this new model is that much of an improvement to the 917 D2/D3 models??? another tease? on the other hand, assume many loyalists will jump at the opportunity to buy a NEW Titleist?????

I have been able to hit the T3. My ball speed increased 8 and I reduce spin by 4%. I think there is a reason 71 tour players have switched

    TS stands for Tour Speed

The 919 label has already been used by another mfr and would have likely triggered a legal fight if Titleist had used the same name.

Why are the hybrids not updated along with the woods? It's hard to budget for new irons AND hybrids in the same year. It's easier to budget for a new driver and hybrids and then irons the next year. I know you feel the hybrids are more like irons than woods, but think of the consumer's budget.

  21. The TS stands for Titleist Speed, they were loosing market share to another company that claimed faster ball speed off there driver face, called prison snap or something like that. One will have the flat weight, the other the surefit, both will be 460 CC. And this info you can take to the bank.
  22. Titleist Speed, 460 cc,
