New fairway wood or hybrid?

  1. I've decided it's time to upgrade either my TM 3 wood or Titleist 909H. I hit both decently well but could use some improvement in consistency and accuracy. Distance is not the issue. Pros and cons to both: -hybrid is around 2 years older than the 3 wood so I'd benefit from new technology on either -I use my hybrid more frequently and hit it slightly better than the 3 wood

    I'm looking at the 818H, 917F, or possibly TS2.

Do I replace the newer (but still old) club that I hit less? Or replace the older club I hit better and more often?

    Appreciate any thoughts/input, thank you!

If it were me, I'd replace the older one that sees more use (assuming I could find something that I hit as well). But then again, that's just my opinion.

If you trusted your fairway as much as your hybrid, would you use it more often? Would 10-20 yards longer than your hybrid help you score? Reach a par 5 in 2? If you went to a pro shop/fitter, let that person and the (Trackman) work with you to best fill the gap from iron to driver. Either club will improve by moving to the newer material heads and vastly improved shafts.
  4. I would look at hitting both and get fit for both. Look at your game and implement the club in your bag that would fit best into your game.
