    Hi TT family,

I am a bit confused on why I am striking the ball perfectly with a set of irons that are 1/2 over standard. I am 5' 10" and for years played irons at standard length, but found a set of used 716 MB's which I was told were standard length. As with all my irons I have purchased used I made sure the lofts and lie angles were standard from a club fitter and found out by they were 1/2 over standard length. One would think with the extra length they would be too upright and cause me to hit the ball left, but that hasn't been the case. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

1 /2" over standard equates to one degree in playing lie so not extreme and obviously is not an issue for you- at 5'9" I have been fitted at 1/2 " over standard and 2 degrees upright- what the 1/2" additional length did for me was to have more consistent hits (centered) and may have done the same for you. Hand position and hand to ground length are key and not necessarily related to your height- just continue to enjoy/trust the clubs and you will be fine.

Well, I am 6'2" and was fitted by a Titleist Product Specialist and my irons are +1/2" and 2* flat. I am sure it has to do with more than height. The Titleist certified fitters are good at what they do. I always get fit when I get new clubs. As I get older, my swing changes. I am 72 and my ball speed is down to 141 mph with my driver. That was in street shoes and no glove.

I am 5' 11" and was fitted for +1/2" and 1 deg. flat. It all depends on the fitters recommendations.
