If you specify the swing weight as part of the order. Titleist will adjust the weight or give you options such as a different grip. Calling Titleist is an option.

Thanks, I ask only because I have my TS3 in hand and it is 44 3/4", the way I ordered. My shop told me that Titleist is good about matching the swing weight without even asking, but it looks like that has not happened here. Bit of a bummer as I am having a lot of trouble with this driver. Hit my G400 and it's night and day vs the TS3.

When I was fitted, I was told that if I went a 1/2 inch shorter to a 45 " shaft, then it was recommend to get the 2 grm heavier weight in the head, but that was with the TS2.

Good to know Barry, I got fit into the TS3, but they didn’t have a 45” shaft. Fit into a 45.5” with a -2 weight. Fit into a Hzdrus Smoke 5.5 stiff, great results at 8 mph ball speed and 21 yards of carry over my 917.

Shotening by 1/2” will decrease SW by 3 points. That would take 6 gms weight to return to the same SW it was at Std length.

Do you know how heavy of a weight they added to your club head ? I think if you take 3/4" off you might need around another 8 grams added to the head to keep the swing weight the same.

It has the +2 weight in the sleeve.. I am thinking it should have been heavier... I also just figured it would have been taken care of... live and learn

3/4 inch length reduction = 4.5 point swing length reduction needing 9 grams to offset. When clubs are ordered at shorter or longer lengths the desired swing weight needs to be specified as Titleist can't anticipate the reason why the specific length was requested. The problem really goes back to whoever ordered the club for you- if they were competent they should have discussed the effect of the reduction in length and then ordered to the swing weight you like and/or fits your swing.

I would get this club to a shop and weigh it before assuming you need so much weight(9 grams) to offset. Mine is cut down 1 inch and playing at 44.5 inches and I need 3 grams to get it back to D2(My Preferred SW). The weight of the shaft, where the weight is in the shaft, the weight of your grip, all play into the actual swing weight. If you are indeed in Long Beach the RD in Seal Beach has a scale available to check it.

I got fit for AP3 irons a week ago and they came yesterday , amazing turn around. I was fit for AMT Red s300 + 1/2 inch, 2 flat. Hit them today. Seemed to fade them all. I have a Golfsmith SW scale and they all measure D6-7. That seems too heavy. The web site doesnt list SW standards. My 712 CB’s are D1 STD length. I would guess a custom order would account for +1/2 “ with decreased Head weight and at most be D3- D4? Did they get them wrong?

Hi Kurt, Joseph is right. We would not make any adjustments to swingweight unless a swingweight was specified. We don't really know who the clubs are for and can't presume swingweight. We would recommend having your fitter watch you hit them and the two of you can make the decision together as to how you want to proceed. Going from std length to 1/2" over is an adjustment in itself and changing heads is another.
We would be happy to have them brought in to make sure they are within tolerance for 1/2" over (which is D5 +/-1 with a standard grip and standard wraps). If they are, but still feel too heavy, we can take them apart and see what can be done to possibly lighten them.

Following are the effect on swing weight of various adjustments:

(1) +/- 1/2 inch in club Length = +/- 3 swing weight points
(2) +/- 5 grams in grip weight = -/+ 1 swing weight point
(3) +/- 2 grams in head weight = +/- 1 swing weight point
(4) +/- 9 grams in shaft weight - +/- 1 swing weight point- will be a variance depending upon the distribution
of weight within the shaft

Also +1/- 1/2 inch in club length changes the playing lie +/- one degree.

I know it depends on the shaft but can anyone tell me approx what the standard swing weight on the TS3s are?
