I've had my AP3's for a couple of weeks now and played about four rounds with them. I love the look and feel of them, with one exception, the cavity. The badge cavity has a gray coating that looks great, but is starting to peel/chip. I wipe/clean the club face after every shot with a wet (water only) microfiber/cotton towel. I know that someone is going to make the comment about it being "Just cosmetic", but for the price, that is not something that I should already have to worry about. I appreciate the feedback, especially from those that've had theirs for a while now. Thanks.

My fitted AP3’s are set to arrive tomorrow. I hope what you’re saying isn’t true. I take good care of my belongings and will be upset if that’s the case.

Sorry I couldn’t be more help to you at this juncture.
  3. I have a similar threat regarding the AP3's. The badges themselves seem really flimsy. I can't imagine them lasting long at all...my 6-iron arrived in the mail with a ding in it.

I’ve had my AP3’s now for about a year. I have not noticed the wear you are describing. I too clean my clubs after each shot with my Titleist towel that is soaked in water on one half. As with all my titleist irons, past and present, the faces and backs (cavity and muscle backs) start to wear from playing and bag chatter. No matter how much care I use they never look like the pros bags after a year. I gave up on that and know I treat my clubs good and that this is just normal.

That said, maybe you want to post some pics for the titleist folks to see or go to your titleist reseller and ask their opinion? If there is a defect with the clubs there might be something that can be done.
  5. I've had my AP3's for about 3 months now. I clean with a nylon brush after each round. I have not noticed any peeling like you are describing. This may be a problem in a specific production run! I would contact who I purchased them from and let work it as a warranty issue. Hope you get resolution with your issue.

I'll have to take a closer look at mine as well?

Thank you for all the feedback. I'll try to post a couple of pics in the following days. I went through a similar situation with TM PSI irons and completely ruined my faith both in TM and the clubs. I have no desire to repeat that experience.

I was able to take a couple of quick pics. One is of another issue (hopefully not though) of the face showing this kind of wear so quickly. It took months with other clubs I've had to start showing even this much. I'd rather sacrifice 7 yards a club and move to the AP2's them to spend the next few years worrying about badges again (cough, cough TM PSI's).

  9. I bought my AP3s in January and have played them all summer long. They are cleaned by the pro shop staff at the end of the round on one of the rotating brush machines and I have not seen anything like this on my clubs. I would contact Titleist and see what they have to say.

The marks on the face just look like normal wear. Typically, when hitting on the driving range you can get these marks really easy due to the sand.

As for the back of your irons, I would show it to your pro shop rep. and see what they say.
  11. I have had my AP3s for over a year now and I do play a lot... I have not seen any of the issues you have shown...
  12. I purchased my AP3s at the beginning of the year. I have played 150+, but I admit that due to my lack of distance off the tee, I am hitting fairway woods or hybrids on my 2nd shots more often. I get excited when I am 120 yards in as I know I will have an iron in my hand, rather than a hybrid.(I still hit it well, but that is not the point.)
I keep covers on my clubs so they look brand new after one year of golf, there is no bag chatter.
I will be truthful, they do not get washed after every round. I just checked for wear on the cavity back of each club, and mine still look brand new.

I have had my AP3's, since, they, first came out. They have a little wear on club faces, but, the cavities looks like new. I do use iron covers to protect them from bag chatter. I had 716 AP1's, and, didn't use iron covers, and, those got beat up pretty quickly.

Update: The country club that I bought them from sent them back last week, but there is no word from Titleist at the moment. I'm going to try and find the number for the warranty dept. Thanks a lot for the comments and feedback. Everybody have a safe and blessed day!

Please post what you find out from Titleist or your country club on the clubs. Good Luck!

Update #2: I called the clubhouse and was told that all the system was showing was "In progress" and that they (Titleist) were working on them but nothing else. Apparently when it's a warranty issue they can take from between 3 and 4 weeks to complete. I'm trying not to get too frustrated, but the fact that I only had the clubs 3 weeks and didn't get that many rounds in, leaves me feeling, not so great, with my Titleist experience so far. I guess the "Waiting Game" it is. I really hope this is not the norm because there won't a second time and I was hoping, still hoping, that it would turn out great. (steps off soapbox). Once again, thanks for the feedback and comments. Have a great day everyone.

Hola everyone! I meant to update this post a while ago, but life has kept me busy. Titleist was great in the way they handle the problem. All of the irons received new heads, although they might have just refinished the old ones (The clubhouse didn't give me a definitive answer). Either way, I haven't had anymore issues and have played the heck out of these clubs. I really, really, really love these clubs! Thank you guys for your feedback, opinions and concern. And thank you Titleist for a great product and even better customer service!
