Currently gaming my 917 with the pro 74 shaft at 44” and liking this length. How would a TS perform at this length or 44.5” with the Hzrdous Smoke 6.0 as looking at the profiles this is the closest of the stock shafts. Just looking for thoughts as currently I can’t get to a fitting?

While I philosophically believe there is benefit to a shorter shaft, the guys at TPI convinced me that with the TS I could do better moving from a stock 45 inch 917 to a stock 45.5 inch TS. I didn't lose accuracy with either dispersion or where I was striking on the club face. It would be worth to keep your 917 gamer and waiting until you can get to a fitting to determine the best shaft and length for you. Using my 917 shaft in a TS didn't result in much change. Both the length and technology of the shaft selected contributed substantially to the 4 mph increase in ball speed.
  3. You need to find the magic sweet spot between the center line of the fairway and extra yards that land in the rough.

I'm also keeping my 917 D2 w/ standard 45 " shaft. Very confident with accuracy, distance, and ball flight.

According to Titleist their +6g Weight Screw will bring you back to the TS standard swing weight at 44" inch and at 44.5" their +4g Weight Screw would be required.

I went from a 915d3 44,5 speeder757 evo iii to TS3 with stock smoke 6.0 at 45,5 and happy with this setup.
I was fitted for the TS3 by Titleist and this is the way to go.
    Try it before buy it,!

Depends on where you are comfortable with swing weight, I have 3 shafts for my TS3, two at 45 and the stock Smoke at 45.5. With the stock weight at 12 grams, I had 6 grams of hotmelt added to the head to bring SW to D4 on my 45 shafts. When I use the 45.5 Smoke, I just remove the factory 12 gram weight and put the 8 gram weight in, works perfectly!
