I felt like Titleist was on the leading edge in the active recoil channel and then improving it. Now it is gone from the TS2 and TS3 yet other major companies have adapted it (hammerhead-TM). Is there a reason it was all the hype on the 915/917 and now its gone from the driver but remains on the fairway woods?

Sold me as a major advancement and then took it away. Any one know why? I read that people complained that the channel was catching the ground on the start of the backswing but that sounds like a problem with the golfer and not the equipment imo

Hi, The chassis of the TS metalwoods was built from the ground up and this new chassis allowed us to eliminate the ARC in the drivers because we could move the CG even lower and further back. This also allowed us to dial in sound and feel in the new head.
On the fairways, we designed a new Active Recoil Channel (ARC) which allowed us to dial in more speed on off center hits. Since the fairways have turf interaction, we kept it in the fairways to help with shots hit low on the face.

Awesome! I look forward to getting fitted prior to the handicap beginning again in April here in Maryland. My only concern is that I do not expect my club fitter to have the new 2019 Titleist ProV or X available at my fitting. Would like to maximize my game and go from 75-82 scores to around Par or under every round.

I appreciate that Titleist has put the emphasis back into distance as well as sound, feel, and control.

Cathi explained it perfect! Trust me after hitting the TS2 and 3 you wont miss the ARC anymore because the ball feels way better coming off the face compared to the old drivers
