Nice looking sticks. Please let us know when you start gaming them.
  3. Look forward to your updates on experience .. I am considering these as well just do not like the all manufacturer's trends to make standard lofts stronger and stronger

You'll love them. Picked mine up last spring, it's been a blast coming from the 712s.

played the 718 AP1's for one season, coming from 714's. The 718's are definitely an improvement. They are nice and forgiving with great distance. The long irons are particularly good - easy to hit and launch high. Kept the 4 iron in the bag and retired the 4 hybrid!! You will love the 718 AP1's, they are great clubs.

I play a set of Titleist tour model blades, circa early 90s. On May 26th, I played the champions course at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens FL but did not bring my clubs and will not ship them because I love my irons and will not risk loss or damage. The rentals were the 718 AP3s which I hit about the same as my own irons. Two weeks earlier, I went to Golf Mart in Escondido Ca to practice hitting the 718 AP3s and reviewing the stats from the golf monitor. I was hitting the 6 iron to 185 (including roll-out) and it felt smooth. However, an associate brought me another club and asked me to hit it without seeing what it was. I hit that club about 5 times with roll-out to 200. It turned out to be a Wilson Staff (WS) C300, also a 6 iron. I get it, the AP3 6 iron has a 28 degree loft and the WS 6 iron has a 27 degree loft which probably accounts for the distance variation. Now, both the WS 6 iron and the Titleist AP1 6 iron are 27 degree lofts. I haven't hit the AP1s yet but will today after work. I need to compare distance and feel for each. Has anyone else in this thread experienced a significant distance increase between the AP3s and AP1s?

    Respectfully,
    Bill
