  1. For those that have been fitted for the 917D2 and TS. Are you finding that you are getting fitted into the TS2 or the TS3? I am interested in the TS driver line and I have a 917D2 that I was fitted for. Now I know the only way to truly know is go get fitted, unfortunately for my area there isn’t any Titleist Thursday’s until the middle of May. I have an appointment booked then, just curious what everyone is finding that has been fit for both. I know the subject has been asked a lot.

    All input is greatly appreciated.

I was 915d2, then 917d2 now TS2 all fitted at Titleist.
The TS2 was 5mph up on the old 917d2 and 15 yards longer with a half inch shorter shaft
I love it and can’t stop telling everyone about it!!
The feel, looks, sound off it, everything about rocks!! ️‍♂️

I was D2 to TS2. There are others that went D2 to TS3. The tech changes are dramatic enough that once a 2 (or 3) always a 2 (or 3) doesn't apply with this version change. Spin rates, launch angles, and ball-striking consistency are different enough that you will be uniquely you. If your ball striking area is a half dollar or larger, you may need the forgiveness of the D2. A more piercing ball flight with a TS3 only works if you have enough ball speed to keep the ball in the air.

    Hi Brandon,

I too was fitted to the 917 D2, and recently fitted for the TS2. I love my D2, but during my fitting, I found the TS2 proved a better result without a better swing. You know when your swing is great and you really connect? Well, I don’t do that on every swing, and during my fitting my misses produced much better results with the TS2. The really connected swings are probably a bit closer results between the two clubs, but still better with the TS2. The big difference is the the misses are much better. I’m looking forward to receiving the driver this week.

Enjoy your fitting, and I’m sure you’ll be happy with the results. Enjoy your new TS!
  5. I went from the 917 D2 to the TS3. I had already sold my 917 before my TS fitting so I didn't do a side by side test, but the TS2 just never looked right or felt good to me. We tried both TS2 and TS3 during the fitting and ended up with the TS3 which I liked better anyways.
  6. I went from 917 D2 to the TS3 for the same reasons TJ notes above.
  7. All,

Thanks for the replies, I can’t wait for my fitting to get here. Sunday at the country club they had a demo TS3 that I took to the range I liked the way everything felt when I hit the ball. The loft and shaft wasn’t the right combo for me tho. It was all over the place on the range.

Also wondering if I shouldn’t hold off and wait for the TS4 to be out and able to test all three and see which one is the best.

In my 917D2 I was fitted in to an 8.5 degree, I don’t have a problem getting the ball air born.
  8. Update, had my fitting on 5/9, and after going through the fitting the fitter couldn't find me a combo that would get me better results than my current driver. We tried both the TS2 and TS3, I am actually a little disappointed that we couldn't find a combo to work. The fitter mentioned to me that I needed to fix my swing flaws first before we try again, which I understand but in every video I have seen on YouTube every fitter try's to find a combo that will work for their swing and doesn't want to change their swing.
