  1. I currently play 714 ap1 irons and have been chipping and pitching mostly with my 52 degree wedge for the past year or so. I am thinking of getting a few sm6 or sm7 wedges for my set and I’m debating replacing the 52 ap1 with a vokey but I’m not sure if it’s worth it unless I get a 52-12 since the 52-08 is very similar Specs to the 52 ap1. I play a course that is pretty firm with short cut fairways and often less than fluffy bunkers. I’ve heard that more bounce is good but too much bounce in form conditions can be bad. If I get a vokey 52 should I get the higher bounce or lower? I would be using it only for chipping and pitching and on those shots I have a pretty shallow swing. Also, does the increased swing weight make a difference? The al1 wedge is a D1 but the vokey is a D3. Thanks.

With your shallow swing and turf conditions I don't think there would be any benefit of going with the 12 so I would stick with the 8 degree- the increased swing weight shouldn't factor into your decision, but, if you prefer to partially offset it you could go with a heavier grip or a grip end counterweight- an additional 5 grams will decrease swing weight one point.
