  1. Hi everyone I’m currently playing the ap1 710 they are about 10 years old faces are worn so I’m looking to upgrade I’m a 22 HCP I hit my 8 iron 145 to 150 consistently can’t get out for a fitting so wondering if I’m better off with the t300 or t200 irons I understand that the t300 are supposed to be closest to the ap1s but looking at the lofts the t200s are closer to the lofts of my 710s any input would be helpful. Thanks

The T200 won't be as forgiving as the T300. Loft is the least important factor. Consistent distance and dispersion on off-center hits are more important. Even at the same loft, a T200 will be a different flight and distance than a 710 AP1 - the technology is that different. Any current iron will require an adjustment to the flight and distance over a 10 year old iron.

Even better to get a full iron fitting - Titleist Thursday if possible - the fitter can nail down your best distance and dispersion with the best head and shaft for your game. Not all golfers needing the forgiveness of the T300 will get the best benefit with the "stock" shafts. They are as important if not more so than the head.

I believe the lofts are stronger because new irons are designed to launch higher. They should even out to be equivalent to your current irons if you go with the AP1 successor.
