Right now I use the standard weight with a draw setting, but I was thinking about making the club a little heavier. Does anyone have experience playing with the weights

RE: Adjusting Swing Weight

Just feel and range time to observe outcomes. You'll likely know as soon as you hit it with the right swing weight, feels like something just clicks.

RE: Adjusting Swing Weight

Fitting. The TSi-1 had too much spin and had to add a Tensai Blue shaft to drop. Fitting for TSR-2 with a 50 g shaft fixed the spin issue, had more consistent ball speed, and the final choice based on the feel of club. That observation was I didn’t lose where I could feel the head in my swing. Although overall heavier only added weight to account for the -1 inch shaft length.

RE: Adjusting Swing Weight

Thanks for the information. Did you guys test with a launch monitor, of was it just feel and observation on the range?

RE: Adjusting Swing Weight

My TSR4 is 1/2 inch short (45") and +4 weight. (5g and 13g)

Same as Dale and James, I can feel the club head much better. I play all my irons and woods at D3, I think my driver is D4 or D5. My 3 iron has 10g top weight plus 10g of lead tape to get it up to D3. Haha.

Also shaft affect it too for me. I play a Ventus Black, when I stick my Tour AD IZ on my driver I can't feel the club head anymore and ballstriking goes out the window.

RE: Adjusting Swing Weight

I changed to a heavier weight previously in TS2/3 and now in TSR3. I enjoy feeling the club head on the back swing which helps my tempo. The results have been much more consistent control and more distance because my tempo is sync'd up allowing me to trust swinging faster. Small investment for potential growth - love the fact we can play with weights.

Having said that, if you are still in TS3 you may want to consider TSR (or TSi). At this point, you'll have to go to the secondary market for weight used in TS3 (driver, fairway and hybrid) and unfortunately they can be inconsistent/cheap. 3 years ago I bought one and it bent inside the club - 3wood weight sits right behind the face. Was able to get it out with a lot of elbow grease and thankfully Titleist send me a OEM replacement. The new weighting system in TSR and TSi is much more stable. This winter will be replacing my TS3 3wood for this very reason.

Good luck on your journey to better.

RE: Adjusting Swing Weight

Yes. I have played a heavier driver weight for quite a while now. I have trouble controlling a light clubhead and can square up a heavier club better which results in straighter and longer hits. It isn't for everyone but works for me. Most importantly, find what works for you. Aftermarket weights are cheap so getting a few and doing some testing might be worth it for you.
