I just found this thread.

I was hitting my tsr2 with stock 9 gram weight ok, but thought it felt a little light. I really liked my sons g425 max which has a heavier weight. I put the 15 gr weight in my tsr2 and got it to a D4 SW.

Made an immediate impact for me. Could feel the head in my swing which helped tempo and squaring the face. Felt like it added a touch of forgiveness too as some shots stayed on line longer. Definitely worth a try especially if you like a heavier feel

I’ve used a heavier head weight on my drivers because I swing a 44” club. I have a 15g weight on my 915D2 with 62g shaft. I used a 17g weight with a Bassara shaft.

I’m most comfortable with a D2 swing weight.

It’s a matter of feel.

Two grams is one swingweight point.

I took my 913D2 down to 43.5 a couple years ago and had a 23g weight with an S60+ R shaft. I had to set the Surefit at A3. I play my 915D2 with the B3 setting at 44". The 915D with the Diamana 72 x5ct S is the most accurate driver and I can

I play a TSR4 45" length, +4 grams (5g front, 13g back). It's about D4.5. I like the heavier weight, I feel like I have more control and feel over where the clubhead is moving in space.

Overall between the 130g shafts and all the extra lead tape on my clubs, plus the 50g counter weight and led tape on the bottom of my putter, I bet my bag weighs 300g more than the average setup.

One thing to note with the TSi4 is that the weight is only in the forward position. Adding more weight will lower spin and launch. Depending on your current launch characteristics, could make the ball just fall out of the sky. Which happens to me when I have the heavy weight in the forward position on my TSR4. Alternatively adding lead tape to the back, even using a lighter weight in the front, and compensating with extra lead tape in the back, will increase launch, spin, and forgiveness of the driver.

If you hit spinny cuts a heavier weight may help, but if you launch it low, especially with a draw your drive could nose dive on you.

If you decide to go the lead tape route, there are a few considerations you need to consider.

"Where" on the head/sole you place the lead tape may impact the direction or spin on the ball depending on how much you use of course.

Most better players prefer the sole towards the heel for draw or toe for fade .... the farther back you place is going to launch higher slightly. These are generic reactions but you get the point...if you only add one gram of lead tape it isnt going to matter much but the more you add the more you will see these impact the performance.

The Tour Van uses hot melt inside the head and they can place it on just about any part to mute sound slightly, as well as impact what I described above.

Standard weight I have heard is D2 the last time I asked...

I find that I prefer D3 or D3.5 (you need to add weight to the driver head to achieve this)

Yes, I have a weight set and I have experimented with different swing weights (by adding or subtracting weight). Everyone has their preferences but I would strongly recommend this...you never know what better feel you might find!

The 8 g is specified as the standard weight. If ordered with a custom length, the weight to get back to D2-D3…would be adjusted at the plant. My -0.5 length came with a plus 4 weight on my TSR-2 driver.
4-6-8-10-12-14 g are TSR-3 driver options. (-4 to +6 ).

I have played a heavier weighted driver head for quite a while now, probably the last three models of driver. I have a very slow tempo and swing and I find that I can feel where the clubhead is in the swing better than with a lightweight head. Aftermarket weights are cheap or you can first experiment with lead tape for a few rounds to see how it works out for you. It's not for everyone.
