  1. So I'm looking for new rain gear before a trip to Scotland in July and was curious if anyone on here has the new FJ Select rain gear and how it's held up. Saw some at a local store and it felt great!! Any reviews or pointers?

Or even what rain gear are you sporting and where have you used it? Thx!!

I just bought the Dryjoys Select jacket and it is very nice. Seems very well made and the waterproofing is excellent. What prompted me to buy it was Michael Breed wearing it in the shower to show how waterproof it actually was.

Best of luck with your purchase.
  3. Sorry I have no experience of the Footjoy Select but...

I have a Dryjoys tour jacket and the HLV2 waterproof trousers. This is a fantastic combo and I got lucky and found the Footjoy Dryjoy waterproof hat today after finding out the course was closed

Never experienced foot joy waterproofs , so cant comment, personally I use galvin green or under armour and I’ve not had any problems with either, living over here in the uk , we get plenty of wet weather to deal with
  6. Wondering if anyone else who is a TEAM TITLEIST member was unable to order the black, red &white Team Titleist Players 4 Stand Bag (with the TT logo) that was offered on the email titled “New Team Titleist Member Exclusive” that was sent out late morning on 1/9/2020? I was unable to access the website for several hours, apparently due to technical difficulties, until I finally reset my password. I then tried to put my order in but it came back no longer available. Sent an email to customer service and they responded: “Unfortunately the TT gear is a limited collection and we will not be restocking.”

It’s seems strange and somewhat disingenuous to me for Titleist to offer something to Team Titleist members and have it be gone in a couple of hours. I wanted the bag to replace my current Titleist stand bag which I’ve had for about 15 years. It has been a great bag but is starting to show its age. My initials are TT so it would have been cool to have the TT logo on the bag.

I like the cut and weight of the Hydrolite...the Select would be warmer

I have FJ Dryjoy rain gear pants and jacket. Love them both. I have used them for a couple of years in both showers and steady rain. It does not hinder the swing as well as keeping you perfectly dry.

  11. I have both the jacket and pants of the FJ Select Rainwear....very light and quiet...great outfit. They are very durable for me and I have had them for a few years now with lots of success. I travel with them since they are so light and comfortable. I can use them in a variety of weather conditions and would recommend them for your trip!

    Cheers, Chris
  12. Thx all!! I'm looking between the Selects and the ProQuip gear. Lifetime warranty on the ProQuip is a pretty good perk on that side but I also have seen and felt the Selects and like them too. Better deal on the ProQuip at the moment also so that's making it tough!!

    Thx for the comments

Dryjoys Select is awesome and I am trying to pull the trigger on the pants. The thing holding me back is the fact that I do not play when it rains...

For trips , particularly Scotland, Ireland or a place like Bandon I prefer to wear my rain pants as my pants for the day. (So you just have “under-armor” type layer underneath.)

    Couple of keys-
    1. Make sure the pants have belt loops, and wear a belt. (No sagging)
    2. Try to find a fitted product (I know Galway bay makes that product, I’m not sure about foot joy) or you might take the pants to a tailor, so that the legs don’t drag.

As someone who’s been a frequent golf traveler over the years, this system of wearing rain pants as your pants all day is just easier. Less to keep in your bag all day, you don’t need to stop in the middle of the round and put on bulky rain pants, helps with the wind plus you don’t need to deal with the wet rain pants afterwards you play. Plus it’s easier to walk and swing, as your wearing less bulk.

So for the top- I wear a long sleeve silk (under-armor type layer), a golf shirt and a vest to keep my core warm. The tight underlayer keeps you warm and the wind off. I keep a FJ jacket in my bag, when the rain comes.
FJ rain gloves are a must, umbrella is a definite No.
