Just purchased a new Titleist cart bag. I heard using Scotch guard sun and rain protectant will help it from fading. Thoughts?

Depends on the color. Red in the hot sun in the south will fade regardless of any aides. I always buy black bags for that reason.

You're having better luck than me with Black bags. In 10 1/2 years in Florida, I've had 3 Black bags that have faded so bad that they looked like I tied them to the back of my bumper and dragged them down a dirt road.
  6. Good plan. Give us an update after you apply it and the bag has experienced some rain.

See that the tour players are carrying a new tour bag. Maybe they are changing. White insert instead of the all black with white trim. Bought the all black and glad I kept the previous model which was hardly used due to a year layoff.

I have scotch guarded all of my bags since the 90's. It doesn't help much with the fading issue but does keep the bag cleaner and makes is easier to wipe it down every so often. The biggest help that I have noticed is that it helps with pollen build up in the spring.

My 2018 Players USA Flag bag yellowed after two years. I found an identical bag in the Fall and decided to use Scotchgard Water and Sun Shield. I’ll update the post with a end of year pic and let you know if it made a difference. It’s an easy application and may help maintain our bags.
