2020 was a tough year for most and I was no exception. On March 27th of 2020 my dear friend Alan was tragically killed by a drunk driver. He was the reason my son and I play at the course we do. A week later another dear friend Matt discovered he had terminal stage four cancer. My family and I moved him to our house and took care of him until his passing on April 26th.

This year I had Pro-V1's made with a Blue Ribbon on one side and binary numbers that spell 4Alan on the other (computer geek here).

My home course, Valley Country Club in Warwick RI is right down the road from where my friend Matt lived and the hole closest to his house is the sixth hole.

On Sunday June 13th during a Member Member tournament that I was playing with my son, one of those special balls found its way into the cup on that sixth hole.

I have been blessed to have my son and my dear friend who works for Alan's company with me for both of my holes in one and to be honest, wasn't even surprised to learn that Alan's brother Mark had also made his first hole in one that same weekend.

RIP Alan and Matt. Miss you both more than I can ever say..
