Glamgolf - check them out they do all custom putter covers. I’ve been using them on my Scotty now for years, all magnetic!

Go to Amazon and search for "magnetic putter covers". There are numerous options and some are very reasonably priced.

There is an eBay seller that makes magnets enclosed in Velcro that you can put on the Velcro strips in the covers to convert them.

I do wish there was an alternative to the velcro. If you game them,they will wear. I am a Cameron purist though. I just keep replacing them.

I have a Futura X which also has a "different" headcover. I have purchased 3 replacements as the velcro keeps wearing out to the point the headcover can fall off the putter in the cart. The replacements are usually a min of 50$ so it is not a cheap replacement. Plus one on replacing velcro with magnets. I am looking at the Phantom 11 now, trying to find a place to test drive.

I just saw a replacement headcover on ebay...thats about one of the few places to go now since they are no longer made.

Got 4 round 3/4” x 1/8” rare earth magnets from Lee Valley. Cut the stitches at the narrow ends of the Velcro ( a Golo 3 headcover ) slid the magnets in and a few stitches to close. Trimmed the loop side of the Velcro to get rid of long fibers. Could use a bit of Super Glue, but the way the Velcro was stitched it made two perfect pockets for the magnets. Just make sure the poles are oriented correctly.

Closes perfect now and stays on well when in the golf bag.

A 15 minute home fix.

I understand Scotty hasn't done magnets in the past for fear of damaging the putter but by now there are plenty of other companies making magnet head covers. I really wish Scotty would start offering some as they are a bit easier to slide on and off, and to me most importantly more durable. Never had a magnet cover wear out where the magnet is but I've definitely seen the velcro start pulling away on some of my gamer Scotty covers.

OK, so I just sewed in magnets on my Circa 62 Charcoal Mist (carbon steel head) putter cover. I used small (slightly smaller than 1/2" diameter) neodymium magnets in 2 pairs, inserting under the velcro near the top and bottom part of the 'x' stitch that secures the velcro to the inner lining of the cover. I think it was easier than installing 1 pair of larger diameter magnets. I'll see how this works over the summer, using it on a Studio Select 2.7 putter.

Most show repair shops or tailors can modify your headcover to include magnets. I've done this a couple times with minimum effort and great success.

Oh, another benefit of magnetic closure with a carbon steel putter head is that you can pick the cover up with the clubhead. This won't work for non-ferric heads (copper, manganese, most stainless steels), though.

Short answer, yes, I have stitched in magnets sourced at my local hardware store. I did it with a small leather patch on each side of the cover, with a neodymium magnet on each side. They are strong but a bit fragile/delicate, thus they won't last if abused. I also think I would use some type of a blade to shave the velcro, open one side of the stitching holding it in place, insert the magnet, and restitch.

A seamstress could do this as well. Not sure how much it would cost. Or, replace the velcro on the worn out side (not the hook, but the loop side, I think). That would be temporary, of course.

AM&E makes the headcovers for Scotty. They "will not" make a Scotty for you with the magnet, but you could check to see if you could get plain headcover with the magnet that would fit your putter or a custom of your design. They have a catalog online and you can always call their customer service at 800-528-6480. Just another option.

Ther are some DIY conversion kits out there if you want to go that route. Some are pretty simple and have a magnet inside a velcro overlay/pouch that way you don't remove the factory velcro. I'd try one of those kits as the cover for the Concept X is a bit different as you noted. A simple Google search should net you a bunch of options and even some premade kits for purchase. Im a bit of a traditionalist so I haven't done any conversion attempts rather stay with the velcro, but that is my own preference. Good luck in your search.
