One-offs happen. There is nothing you can do about it, so I would just go out and get a better bag than the one before so that after the sticker shock, it is a net positive. Life is too short to be worried about things like this.

Well Dale you've never seen my left leg. It's kinda defective, but it still works.
As for the golf bag legs, I have to agree with you. The only time I had one break was coincidentally after flying to Scottsdale for a week of golf. I always use a hard case, but they still open it once in awhile to check it, and they left me a friendly note that it was inspected. As soon as I got to the hotel and unloaded it, I noticed a large scrape on the fiberglass leg, and sure enough it broke the next day right where the scrape was. Had it happen to a driver shaft once too.
I've many times seen how people treat their golf bags and equipment, and it doesn't surprise me that they end up breaking something. If you take care of your equipment, the legs will last as long as the bag. Same with the legs under your butt.

I’ve never seen defective legs, only unfortunate situations where any brand of bag with aluminum legs will be bent. There really is only aluminum and fiberglass legs on all stand bags, regardless of the brand. Traveling in a hard case and normal play with Titleist bags for years without any legs breaking. I will continue to be happy with my Titleist bags. Sorry to hear that you are not as satisfied as most of us have been.

I feel bad for the kid because Titleist makes lousy golf bags. I've had 2 and legs broke on both. One in less than a year and now the replacement just after a year! To spend over $300 on a bag and for then to last only this long is disgraceful

No problem. The warranty info was just a reminder that some whole bags can get replaced early on, for issues caused by defects but not for accidents. Best option would have been to pressure the airlines right after the trip and maybe get them to pay for a full replacement bag. As for knowing how Titleist uses the overseas company to build their bags, don't feel bad, most people do not know this or will easily find information about it. I was a Titleist bag tester for a few years and was able to get some inside info on the bag development and production process. Again, good on you to come up with a great solution to a common problem. This will likely help a lot of people whose legs have been bent and are looking for a fix rather than buying a new bag. BTW, one of the things I like best about the Players 4 Carbon bag is the graphite legs. While they still can be broken if hit hard, they are not going to get bent.

Dale, thanks for the response. I was reading through my post and was looking for where I said anything about a warranty. I was trying to purchase one. I’m sorry my ignorance of the inner workings of Titleist or the 2nd tier wholesale distributor came out. I will brush up on that and I won’t make the same mistake again.

I do appreciate the info about the pvc to protect the legs. That will come in handy.

I made this post to let people know that there are options and all hope is not lost when the legs on your $300 bag break.

Bill, great to hear you came up with a solution. Titleist does have the standard warranty on bags so if it was new, they may have been able to replace it. The damage was the fault of the airlines so maybe you should go after them for a claim since it was not a Titleist defect that created the problem. The reason they do not sell parts is the bags are produced my a company that exclusively builds bags as a 2nd tier wholesale producer. That company is not prepared to have excess stock of out-of-production parts that lay around hoping to sell as replacements as that is not their business model. They can work with Titleist warranty claims on some current parts without impact to their own production line. I too had a leg bent when I used a soft travel bag due to TSR repacking with the legs to the side of the travel case. After that, I also did a Home Depot hack, got PVC tubing and cut leg protectors that slide on and off for travel. After that, I just went to a hard case for airline travel.

I recently went on vacation and took my golf bag with me. When I got home, I noticed one of the legs were bent. I tried to straighten it and it snapped. I tried to get a replacement leg from Titleist but for some reason they don’t sell them. I looked at aftermarket with no success. I found a thread on Reddit and someone went to home depot and purchased an aluminum tube the same size as what was on the bag. So I followed suit. For $13 I had me a brand new leg. I felt like lieutenant Dan from Forrest Gump. I painted and installed it, the only thing that is missing is the Titleist logo. May be the last Titleist bag I purchase. I hope they support their irons better than the bags.

Did you purchase the bag at a local authorized Titleist retailer? If so, I would approach them first to see what options are available to you. If the bag is truly out of its warranty period, you're out of luck with a replacement. You might look at the secondary marketplace for used bags that have legs like yours. The good news is the Titleist leg design has not changed much over the years and you could easily do a "pick and pull" from one bag to another. Good luck.

Phone number is under Customer Service, Warranty, Care, and Repair at the bottom on this website. If it's a newer bag, take it to the authorized retailer you purchased from and they will return it for repair. If older, pull the other screw and take it to the hardware store to match it up to a replacement. Hopefully you get it back on the course soon.

Frank, They do not have replacement parts but if it is less than 12 months old, you can return it through the Titleist distributor where you purchased it and Titleist will replace it. They want the old one back to inspect for defects and/or ideas for future improvements.

Mine broke too - still within warranty period so I sent it back to the shop to make a warranty claim. Not sure if it is approved. It just snapped when I took it out of the car boot and packed it on the ground.

This same issue happened to me with the Players 14 Stand Bag. It was only 1 month old.

Were you able to successfully submit a damage claim with your airline? I just opened up a claim with Delta Airlines.

Hi Jeffrey, I spoke to the bag department and due to the fact that the airlines damaged it in travel, the recommendation was that you file the claim with the airlines and they would either replace the bag or give you the value to replace it yourself. Unfortunately, they do not have parts, such as legs as replacements.

Did anyone get their problem resolved through this method? Players 14 Stand Bag that is 2 weeks old/club logo and just damaged while traveling. I called the number, asked for bag repair and was told they do not have replacement legs available.

I wanted to jump in on this old conversation. I was in a local tournament and the caddie lost the rubber end to my bag leg. I called the bag repair number and they said they don't have any replacement parts. Anyone know where I can get another rubber leg end?

Hi Charles, Contact the Acushnet office in your country. When you bring up your Titleist.com site for your country, and you will see "Contact" at the bottom of the page.

Hi Christos, Call 1-800-225-8500 and ask for Bag repair and they should be able to help you get your replacement legs.
