I am here in Georgia on business & chose to bring my clubs. Found a nice Lil' course to play after work. Loved it so I chose today. After playing 18 I thought I would play another 9. Once I got back to my hotel and started cleaning my clubs I noticed my new TT bag tag was no longer on my bag. To remove it someone would have had to unclip from my bag. (I think my profile photo shows my old one & where it clips on my bag) it while I was paying for another round and went to the restroom. I just don't get it, very frustrating on a day I was having so much fun playing golf....... I know I had it because I run the cart strap underneath when I strap my bag onto the cart...

    So Sad........

Sad. I'm getting where i keep mine inside the bag when not physically there. Could be worse, i saw where a guy was captured on video at Texas Star GC (Euless TX) last week backing up his car to the club drop off and making off with a complete set of new Titleist clubs. High-end public course where you would think your sticks would be safe.

Dale, I live in the DFW area. When did this happen at Texas Star? All they have to do is sit in the parking lot and watch the people get out of their cars with their bags. Two seconds after the guy enters the clubhouse....they have struck!!
  4. Hi Dale - do you happen to have a link to the video? I'm a member at Texas Star and I'd like to see if I recognize the person or vehicle.

I'm sorry to hear that Darryl. Nothing is safe anymore it seems like. I miss my old club where I used to play where I can leave my bag at the range or by the pro shop and no one will touch it unless the staff had to move it or keep it overnight... don't get me wrong, not a full proof though, I've heard guys leaving wedges around the greens that never came back.

Nowadays, I'm just a little more careful anywhere I go even though most places I go to are in so called "good neighborhood". After leaving the club, my laser scope disappeared- a Nikon 500G. I got another one after that (Nikon Coolshot40) and within a year or so, that was taken hanging from my bag... WOW!!! I now have a Bushnell Tour V4. I still hang it outside my bag because that's the most logical and convenient spot for it, though I'm thinking I may need to keep it in one of the pockets and hook a chain on it.

That's unfortunate, sorry about that. At least the clubs were all still there. There was a string of vehicle break-ins at the private club where I used to work, this was a pretty high end club too, in a private neighborhood. I guess just goes to show, never assume your stuff will be safe unattended, no matter where you are.

It's really sad about the world we live in today. It doesn't matter if your at a Muni or a $300.00 per round gem. If your around the public you have to have eyes in the back of your head. Even at a private club, I had a Titleist towel taken off of my bag and saw it on another members bag at the range the next day. How did I know it was mine? Because I cut the cloth handle off and put a brass grommet on it so it would hang higher on my bag. I confronted the member who gave it back to me after explaining that he found it on the green. My Titleist towel always stays clipped to my bag and I have a small white towel that I take to the green. He didn't try to argue with me 'cause he knew got caught so I let it go.

    Frank,
I think I would have reported this member to the club president. It may not have proceeded any further than that but at least it would set a presedence for this member in the future.

As bad as the other knuckleheads who beg for one and then put it up on Ebay. Darryl, many times the hosts of TT will forward you off another to replace it, they're just that good type of folk. If not, let me know, I've been blessed with having 2, and while there is one on each of my bags, I could do OK without one on the second bag.

Darryl M - Sorry to hear this. Even at my club, I always worry about walking away from my bag for too long. Out of curiosity, where in GA?

Thanks to everyone who offered up a TT Bag Tag, I have been fortunate too & have an older one at the house so I can still display TT with pride once I return home. I think going forward I'll keep it in a pocket before & after each round though..

The golfing has been wonderful here and I have a few weeks left to enjoy it some more. Work hasn't been too bad either. lol

    Thanks again,

It's a sad state of affairs when a person can't go to a place where they think nothing like this would happen & it does.
I won't go on Ebay either

I think about this all the time when I'm at any course these days. Especially when I realize how much my bag is worth at the present time. All Titleist clubs ... $1200 irons, $400 driver, 2 -$300 fairways, $350 Scotty Cameron putter, 3 - $150 Vokey wedges .... = a cool $3K worth of clubs. Oh & don't forget the $300 bag. (Wow ... golf is expensive! No wonder my wife yells at me every time I want a new Titleist club! LOL)
I would be devastated if someone were to walk away with my bag, let along my TT bag tag. Hopefully TT will step up and send you another one. I proudly display mine all the time as well.

That is absolutely the worst, I'm sorry to hear that some sticky fingers expletive word, made it away with your TT tag.

  23. I put some black electrical tape around mine once clipped on the bag. Sure people can still take it but they will have to take their time or risk ripping the bag tag. So far it has deterred anyone from taking it.

SORRY ABOUT YOUR BAD LUCK. JUST SOME PUNK NO DOUBT. I HAVE MINE ON MY BAG BUT THE CLASP IS COVERED WITH ELECTRICAL TAPE, SO THE THEIVES HAVE TO WORK FOR IT. KEEP YOUR HEAD UP MAYBE YOU WILL GET A SUPRISE IN THE MAIL..
  26. Very unfortunate! You'd think that there might be a bit of civility and honor in the few hours that you are around the golf course....but alas, the worst of human nature can override some folk's better angels.....you are still TT family as evidenced by the sympathetic comments above. Be well.
