Several years ago I was a guest at Cypress Point. To this day, I would say that was the most fun round I have ever played.

Anyway, what is your most memorable golf round?

What a great question.I've been playing golf since 1973, so that's a lot of rounds. If I had to choose one round, it would be the second and final round of our City Championship,August 29th, 1993. That Saturday, I had played well enough (76) to end up in the final group on Sunday. I ended up shooting 73 in the final round, despite a triple on the 15th hole.I put the driver away, and hit a 1 iron (there were no hybrids back then) on 2 of the remaining 4 holes, hanging on for a 2 shot victory and my first city title. After coming close for many years, including finishing 2nd in 1992, the monkey was finally off my back.

How do I recall the date so vividly you might ask. It was my wife's birthday!

There's been a few, but certainly one was playing the Ocean Course at Kiawah Island a few months after the 1991 Ryder Cup was played there.

Probably playing in the Barstool classic in Chicago at Harborside International. Didn't place top 6 for the finals but had a great day all around.

    I have two:

Seminole, over fifty-five years ago. I was with my future father-in law and we were with his buddy. His buddy mentioned, on a hole I can not recall, "...don't hit it to the right because there are gators...", and you can guess what I did.

My second equally memorable round of golf was Mediah #3. It was a business thing in the mid-80's. As we entered the property I said to my host," I think I am entering heaven".

Two rounds of golf I will never forget.

Augusta National and Spyglass would be nice to add!

My first round of tournament golf... which was my third time ever playing 18 holes.

Played the whole round with just a Driver, 3i-PW, two crappy wedges and a terrible putter.

Shot a 117.... had the time of life and kick started my addition to this game.

Most memorable roundS was last year. Me and 3 buddies completed the Bandon Dunes Summer Solstice. An experience I'll never forgot. All 4 courses, one day. 15 plus hours, 26 plus miles of walking and was handed a hundy when we finished. Then the next day me and a bud played the Preserve before heading back home.
  11. Every match play final that I have played in has been memorable, my record in them is 5-3 and I can recall the losses just as vividly as the victories. However, my most memorable round was played with my dad years ago when we played together in a local qualifier for the Great Canadian Shootout. It was a 2 man team, 6 holes scramble, 6 holes alternate shots, 6 holes best ball. 50% combined handicaps. I went in with an 8, he was 30, so we had 19 shots coming off our score. I kept telling my dad if we can shoot around par straight up, we will be close. Well, I made 3 bad shots all day, 2 found the water, and every time he picked me up. The alternate shot format worked to our advantage because while my dad was 70 something at the time, he still drove the ball well. In this format, both players teed off, and then you alternated after that. We used his drive every time, I hit the 2nd shots, and he knocked in a couple putts. We were under par for the 2nd section. The reason for his high handicap was because of his 2nd shot which rarely found the green, and he did not chip very well. He putted much better than a 30 handicap as well.
We ended up winning at our club by one shot, as we came in with a 2 over par 73. The next round we played, my dad was so nervous, he never got off the tee until the 14th hole. We did not advance, but qualifying at our home course was a round I will never forget.

The Old Course. Finished the last 4 holes in 2 over par - good memories linger. Also have a "souvenir" Pro-V from the first hole. Didn't get time to warm up and hit my second as a worm burner into the rock face of the burn. Have "a piece of the rock" embedded in the ball.

Mine would be my last round with my Grandfather. It was blistering cold and we headed in early because he was too cold. Still probably one of the best memories. Wish he was still here so we could go out one more time.

First time competing in the State Amateur, going into a 12 way, 2 group playoff for 3 spots. Nerves? Could hardly breath. Long time since high school and college matches. 2 holes, par 3 10th and par 4 11th. Back and forth. They kept dropping along the way with bogeys. Like Mike M. I too kept hitting a 1 iron on the par 4. 35 years old playing against a lot of "kids", all college players. 3rd time through, The 1 iron ended up in a 1" divot, which I was able to muscle out a wedge to 3' and tap in for birdie. I was in. A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...........

My most memorable round was playing at Innisbrook home of the Valspar Championship in a high school tournament. What a beautiful but challenging course!

    A tie:

June 13, 1997, The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island. Shot a 77 from the Championship tees. One of my favorite courses in the world.

September 11, 2014, one day after my 68th birthday, I shot a 69 from the senior tees, at our local muni that was built in 1929, Charleston, SC. Got excited coming into number 18 and made a bogey. No worries, lowest round ever to date.

Certainly not the most prestigious, but the round of the year for me was at bethpage. Every time I go there I love it more and more. Highly recommended to all!

Without a doubt, getting to play the Old Course this year.

    Huddersfield,

Mine would have to be playing with an Olympic gold medalist in the pouring rain.
We all played awful, but still a very memorable day and fantastic company

My most memorable round was technically 4 rounds.
Last year we completed the Summer Solstice at Bandon Dunes. Walking 4 world class courses with 4 world class dudes was easily the best 15 hour 26 mile endeavor I've ever taken. Plus I have to say that first beverage at the 76th hole was easily the most gratifying I've ever had.
The next day we played the Preserve and I came thiiiiiiiiiis close to an ace - horseshoes and hand grenades right?

June 2007 I had brought my brother along on a company trip to Scotland, not for the castles but for the golf.

We played 8 rounds and barely encountered any rain. On the day of our round at North Berwick, we woke to soaking, wind driven rain and suited up into our rain gear in the locker room. Literally within 15 minutes, the rain was gone and we teed off in sunny skies. The round was magical, what a tremendous course and setting and friendly membership. I played great, finished with a 74 only to be eclipsed by my brother who carded a 65!
