    I'm down in Florida and yesterday I had the honor of finally playing with fellow TT member, Barry B. We've always been down here around the same time and finally put something together so we could play. We played a course called Panther Run Golf club in Ave Maria, FL. It's a very enjoyable course and very fair but finally getting to meet Barry was even better. Great guy all around and really enjoyed our day. Hope to tee it up again soon with him.

    "Age is just a number".. I say that b/c Barry and I got paired with a father and a son. The son was probably in his late 50s, early 60s but his dad was 95 years old. Barry and I had to ask twice when we heard that. 95 years old, a WWII vet (USMC) and still playing with his son. He wasn't along for the ride, he was teeing it up and joking around with us. For about 4 hours all I could do was watch him play. Every ball up the middle and always smiling and telling us stories. 95 years old. I just couldn't believe it. I only hope I'm still playing when I'm 80! God bless that man and thank you for your service.

    I only took a few pics on the first hole and after that I just wanted to watch him play. A round I'll never forget.

    Congratulations to be 95 and playing golf. Just goes to show playing golf and living longer are linked together.

    At the AmFam Champions event last year, Jack was there for a 9 hole celebrity event on Saturday. On the par 5 #16, Jack put his drive out far beyond 250 yards. Granted he has a 30 yard head start, but he had the closest to the hole drive that day, even further than the actual tournament players including John Daly. He was playing from 465 yards and put his second on the green. ...Not bad for an octogenarian.

    Golf is about having fun at that age. Glad you enjoyed your day. Our oldest at our muni, 92 and can shoot his age easily. Most of our WWII vets have passed on RIP, would venture to say the majority in our senior league in their 70s and 80s. A bunch of Vietnam Era and in country vets. You would know it with the scores that are turned in. The Rascals group are a great bunch of retirees and name is appropriate......they agree on almost nothing......but do agree that Golf is about having a good time.... =)

    As usual, loved your post Speedy! I get to see quite a few seniors play at my muni. Lots of Vets as well. Their stories ate the best. Glad you got to play a round you'll not soon forget.

    Yes, golf is a game you can play and enjoy for a lifetime. I go with my high school buddies, usually 6 - 12 of us, at least twice year on a four day golf trip to Pinehurst and/or Myrtle Beach. We have been doing this since 1994. By the end of this year most of us will be on Medicare. We used to play 36 holes several days. Now we play 18 and then play The Cradle if we’re in Pinehurst. We laugh about the fact that some day we’ll play the Front nine one day and Back nine the next. The game of golf has helped keep us in touch with one another and we plan for that to never end. Thanks for sharing your experience. Our new goal is to continue our trip for 30 more years !!

    As Speedy said, it was a very enjoyable day and I really enjoyed finally getting in a round with Speedy.
    To add a little more to Speedy's post, The son came up to me on the second tee and said he appreciated us "putting up" playing with him and his dad. I replied that it was an honor to play with his dad because it's not every day you get to play and talk with a WW II Vet. The son also said that he and his dad had played a round the day before at Ft Meyers CC. So two rounds on warm & humid days at 95 is pretty awesome.
    It was an all around great day!
