Getting excited about my return to Bandon this Friday. This will be the sixth trip in six years. We always take advantage of their great winter rates and the winter also adds to that Scottish feel playing those links courses. Of course they have been having dry and warm weather but the forecast looks like its changing to wet and cold just as we get there. Play Pacific on Saturday, Old Mac on Sunday, and Bandon Dunes on Monday. Skipping Trails this year unless the weather improves and we squeeze it in one afternoon. Taking the StaDry 4UP bag this time. Also will be playing my 2019 ProV1 protos. If you haven't made it out there yet, I highly suggest you add it to your must-do list.

  2. Long stretch of rain coming to the wet side of Oregon. Enjoy!!

Yep but living now in San Diego, its the only time I get to break out the Gore-Tex. And, McKee's Pub seems to taste better after long, wet, cold day. Should still be lots of fun.

Looks like an amazing venue for golf, or "golf, as it was meant to be played." Dale, if I could ask one question, how far in advance would you recommend making reservations for a trip like yours during the off-peak season?

Tom, I usually make my reservations a year in advance to get single rooms at The Lodge or the Inn. I think the Cottages don't fill up as fast since there are more of them but the price is higher. I am already booked for a return in December 2019. You can always cancel for a full refund before the 30 day mark or change the number of spots. We had a guy drop out so I changed from 4 to 3 about 40 days ahead with no problem. They will ask for a deposit for each room and each day of golf. That was $800 but it actually makes the bill a little easier for me as i don't miss the original deposit after 12 months and the credit against other expenses like food and souvenirs makes the check-out a little cheaper than the other guys that have to pay their full amounts. Overall, 4 nights and 4+ rounds, food and gifts is around $1200. Give them a call and see what is open. I know the actual holiday weeks are the lightest.
