I’ve just ordered a set of T100 irons and am having thoughts of forgoing the T100 pitching wedge(46degrees) and getting my vokey wedges as PW 46, vokey 50, and vokey 56 SW.

Has anyone ever done this? Thank you!

    I have a Vokey 46 set to 44, 54-10S set to 52, 60-14K set to 58 and Wedgworks 64W. I don't carry a 9 iron.

Ths is a pretty common thing to pull off now a days. Personally, I still play the set wedge and three other Vokey's but a number of tour players do this. It's a preference and grind/bounce shoudl play a big part of this decision.

    DKappes,

Andrew A's comment just saved me some typing- very true.

I have done both over the years. I generally use PW (46*) for full shots or 1/2-2/3 swing shots. For me, no need to manipulate the face on the PW and I find the T100 a bit more forgiving than the SM8 for the same scenarios. I use three wedges 52/56/62 beyond that all with different grinds and bounce depending on how I primarily use the club and to give me some flex for different lies.

My two cents would be once your clubs arrive, go back to the fitter and compare the two (T100 PW vs SM8 46F grind) and see what works best for you for the shots you normally play in conditions you normally play in.

In my set makeup I use pitching wedge, gap wedge, 54 & 58 degree wedges.

I play the T300s and the wedges that come with the set. I have one Vokey in the bag, a 58.12D. Have been fitted for all of them to get a good blend.

  10. In my opinion, it all depends on how you like to play shots with your PW / 46 degree wedge. If you need some versatility and customisation in your shots, then I'd advise going for an SM8 where you can get fitted for bounce & grinds based on how you would use the club.

Alternatively, if you only really use your PW for full shots, I'd suggest sticking with a normal T100 PW.
