Most Versatile Wedge Loft

Understanding this is a very subjective question, curious on folks' opinion as to the most versatile wedge loft/grind for shots say 60-70 yards and in as well as shots around the green?

I am looking to add a wedge to the bag; you read many different opinions out there on 54 vs 56 with some saying they use a 60 for everything. Setting gaping aside for this scenario, curious on the TT group's thoughts of the best loft/grind configuration for a "swiss army knife" type wedge.

Like a putter, wedges are a personal thing and you must find what works best for you. They are you money clubs. After having back surgery they are the ones that are giving me the most grief. T350 48*, Vokey 52.08F, 56.10S. Approaching 80 does not help much either, but working on it .

Looking at new T350's new year and will most likely get a new set. 6 iron thru 53W, one degree strong. Talked with the Titleist Rep/Fitter in our area and he said at my age, might be best for me. Will still go see my fitter/Titleist account I have used for years. Great support team. Am currently two degrees up. See if I need to make a change.

For those of you gaming the SM11 in the oil can finish, what has your experience been with regard to the finish’s durability? I’ve currently got the nickel finish SM11’s in my bag, and that finish has held up well. But I’m now considering the T-series irons in oil can, and I’ve got concerns that the oil can will wear off quickly. TIA!

standard gapping PW , GW, with vokey 54' and 58'

recently purchased 54' and 58' vokey wedges, to compliment the standard T-300 irons. I get these clubs well, but wondering if the gap between the 48 and the 54 is little too much. Any, all opinions are appreciated.

My Vokey lineup is 42-46-50-55-60. Wedgeworks 44F (42*), SM11 48-10F (46*), 52-12F (50*), 56-12D (55*) and 60-04T.

One more thing I might want to add is make use of the playability guarantee of places like Golf Mart/Roger Dunn. Plus experience

For 3 years straight (2021-2024) my wedge lofts were 46-52-58-64. I'd been playing 39* as an 8 iron loft. 48-10F set 46 had been my 9/PW since 2020. Played K grind 2* strong since 2018. I used 54-10S 2* strong as a gap wedge 2019-2022. 54-10F 2* strong 2022 -2024 because it worked better in soft bunkers.

Been using 52-12F 2*'strong since 2024 since I figured out why the "bonafide" gap wedges didn't work: lie angle was flattened 1/2* to match the 48-10F. 50* loft carries obstacles better than 52 plus I now have 85-90 yard full swing.

The 44F was a game changer at 42*. I get a lot of use out of it. 46* loft is "baggage" now UNLESS I go back to 34H and 620CB 8 iron and pull the 44F. At this point my short iron setup is 716 AP1 8 iron and 44F (42*).

I am a 10 handicap at the age of 15 and i am looking for wedges. I have some older volkey wedges and i love them but i am getting a whole new set of titlest clubs and i just need some guidance.

My combo for 2 years was a 58-12D (57*) and 60-06K. 60-04T is more versatile than low bounce K (open face shots, loose sand, steep downhill lies).

I play better with 8* bounce on the 44F and 48-10F since they're full swing.

52-12F set to 50* is good for both turf and long bunker shots.

56-12D bone stock.

Been playing Wedgeworks 44F as a 9 iron (42* loft) for a year now.

Gapping is 50-56-60 for SM11s
52-12F (50*)
56-12D
60-04T

I have two 64* wedges available: PM Grind 64/10 and Wedgeworks 64T. The PM grind pairs up with my current wedge setup.

48-10F (46*) available.

What one sees in my thumbnail is when I carry my bag on the shoulder.

I went down a deep rabbit hole with wedges and honestly read way too much online but the biggest thing I learned is you really need to try to get out to a demo day or an outdoor fitting if you can. So much of it depends on your playing conditions, turf, bunkers, how you deliver the club, and what the gapping looks like with your new iron set.

One thing I do think for sure is your lower lofted wedge (48-52 range) will most likely be best as an F grind since that’s usually your fuller swing wedge.

After a ton of research and a recent short game clinic/fitting, my setup is:
50° 8F
54° 10S
58° 8K

I actually got fit into the low bounce K grind and absolutely love it so far.

At the end of the day though, just try stuff and see what gives you confidence around the greens. Also, being a 10 handicap at 15 years old is seriously impressive — keep grinding and you’ll probably be scratch before you’re 18

I used to love my M grind, especially because I liked being able to open the face around the greens. But after taking part in a short game clinic and getting properly fit, I ended up with a low bounce K grind and honestly it made everything way easier for me. Bunkers, tight lies, little shots around the green — it just feels so much more forgiving and confidence inspiring. I still think the M is awesome, but the K definitely surprised me.

I recently added the 60 K* and it is literally a cheat code. With the lead edge grind and the low bounce make this wedge a weapon..

I never thought I'd see the day where I would trade in my 58-12D. The 56-12D is a mere 1/8" longer than the 60-04T. Also matched its lie angle to the remainder of the wedge set.

Playing SM11 52-12F (50*), 56-12D, 60-04T. I still have my 58-12D (56*) and the intent is for a Sunday bag alongside a 64T.

My main intent was to get the new 58-12K and set it to 56*. I fare better with either D grind as a sand wedge. With SM10s, I did very well with 50-57-60.

Been using a 44F in place of a 9 iron for quite some time.
