Why It’s in the Bag: Casey Landman

Her resume says “Merch Dame” at No Laying Up. Her GHIN says 15.1 And while her infinitely positive personality may lead you to believe she never takes golf too seriously, everything in her bag says otherwise.

Casey Landman is a self-described golf sicko who loves everything about the game. She’s a sponge when it comes to absorbing new ideas and exploring new products—so when it came time for her Titleist fitting, she was more eager than most to disprove anyone who thinks, “I’m not good enough to get fit.”

“Which ones work the best? That’s what I want.”

There’s something admirable in Casey’s mindset as she went into her fitting—and it’s something that we can all learn from. The way golf clubs look or who they seem to be designed for shouldn’t dictate whether they’re right for you. Many players—especially mid and high handicappers—assume they can get by with clubs they grab straight from the rack. But when you play a product that’s designed for the broadest range of players, it’s giving up the advantage of playing something built specifically for you.

Similarly, you wouldn’t just buy the first pair of shoes you see on the shelf. You have to find your size, try it on, and actually experience the performance and comfort level for yourself. The same is true for golf clubs—but it’s even more personalized than that.

Casey had been fit for clubs before. But moments into her first Titleist fitting experience, something felt different. She wasn’t automatically getting steered toward super game-improvement clubs or ultra lightweight specs. She was being treated as a golfer—simply allowing the data to reveal what she actually needed.

The club doesn’t know who’s hitting it. So, hit some balls and see which [clubs] get the best results.

What’s in Casey’s Bag (and Why)

Golf Ball: Titleist Pro V1x
“The Pro V1x just stopped. It went up, it went down, it maybe took a hop for a foot or two and it was just done."

Driver: GTS3 | 11° | A1 Hosel | N Track
“Adding [distance] has helped because I have less club coming in [to the green] now.”

Fairway: GTS2 | 15° | D4 Hosel
“These woods made my swing feel effortless. And the ball goes a long way with tighter dispersion!”

Fairway: GTS3 | 21° | A1 Hosel
“I can hit a 7-wood from the fairway with Pro V1x and it just hits and stops. It’s also my new cheat code on long par 3s.”

Irons: T350 (5-6 iron)
T250 Launch Spec (7-AW)
“I got the new high-launch T250 Launch Spec, which are awesome because they just frickin’ go right up in the air.”

Wedges: Vokey SM11 54.14F (Tour Chrome finish)
Vokey SM11 58.12K (Tour Chrome finish)
“I can see a noticeable difference. I can actually chip the ball well.”

Putter: Scotty Cameron Studio Style Fastback | 33”
“I was a blade for life and now I have a mid mallet, which has actually helped my putting.”

My number one issue wasn’t length off the tee or anything like that. It was holding greens…And the Pro V1x just stopped. It went up, it went down, it maybe took a hop for a foot or two and it was just done.

“Why is she playing Pro V1x?!”

Golf ball fittings are often overlooked, but for Casey, it provided an unexpected solution for her game’s number one issue. Casey didn't need a golf ball that she could easily compress, carry farther, or spin less. She needed a golf ball that could actually hold the green.

Casey understands that the game is not about assumptions, it’s about results. And she went into her ball fitting ready to embrace any ball that could better address her greatest needs on every shot.

It’s confidence in knowing that I can hit the shots. If I just hit the shot, the club will do the work.

After her Titleist fitting, not only did Casey walk away with a golf ball and clubs she could be completely confident with—she also walked away with a simple message for all other golfers: go get fit.
