Since 2004 we have had an annual "Ryder Cup" match in September between two engineering companies (Bergmann Associates and Erdman,Anthony Associates)here in Rochester, NY. I am the captain for the Bergmann team. This years match was held at Ravenwood Golf Club in Victor, NY.

There are 8 players on each team. We play fourball on the front nine and individual matches on the back.

The record is 4 & 3 in favor of Erdman, Anthony. So we needed to win this year to even it up. They have won the last three years in a row.

My hole-in-one came on the 8th hole. It was playing to 129 yards from the blues. After finishing the 7th hole our match was all square. I checked the wind and yardage then stepped up to tee with my Vokey pitching wedge and took the shot. I could tell I didn't hit it exactly in the center of clubhead face but it was good enough. The ball hit 3 feet in front of the hole and bounced in. Yeah baby!!!!

We went on to win that hole and the ninth hole to win our front nine match and my partner and I won our back nine individual matches.

Eventually our company went on to win this years Ryder Cup Trophy.
